Leave a CommentMessage said my account may have had a temporary hold placed on it which could be released upon verification of accitivity. Account is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week to protect the account from fraud activity. Another number was given for international calling. My card could be redeemed online by visiting barkleycard.com. Message sounded automated. Female voice. Nice try. What account? Scam.
I received a call from them( on my cell phone) saying my card ( never said WHAT card) was on hold until information could be verified, I had recently gotten a card through my credit union so I was curious, I called the number, and first thing they wanted was my card number, it was automated, of course I didn't give them ANY information and ***g up....I called my credit union and my card was perfectly fine...beware...
They left a voicemail that conveniently *****led when they identified themselves, saying my rewards points had some kind of issue. Scammers. Do not call. Do not give any info.
Message said - temporary hold may have been placed on account and will be removed on verification of activity. A***n that # is 866-611-7737. You may also redeem your account online at barkleycard.com we monitor your account 24 hours a day 7 days a week to protect you from fraud activity. If you are calling from outside the US call 1-302-255-8888.

Definitely a scam. This is the second time I received this call in a year. I contacted my credit card company and they said they did not contact me. Never give up your information . No legitimate company would contact you this way
This is a scam!!!! The voice is so rough
Told me card could be put on hold then asked me for credit card number. SCAM. If they were calling about a fraud type problem shouldn't they have known the card number. I hope these scammers choke on there food & die. Lowest form of human s***
Scam. I got same message and tried to call back. Automated menu keeps telling me to enter my CC #. I keep pressing 0 which on any other company would get you to an operator. Ths just said "please call back later and have your card available"
Received voicemail 3:11PM, 4/14/15 advising my account was put on hold, and to call this number to confirm my info. Caller did not give her name or company, nor my name or any account number or any info to identify myself. No way am I returning this call. Did go to another location and use phone not in my name and called to see who would answer. Received recorded message that number was not in service..
SCAM AUTODIALER AS EVERYBODY ELSE NOTED. GREAT JOB FBI - You're worthless as long as this keep happening in the open... go back to looking at child ****.
All of the comments - same deal. Hopefully no one just put in their credit card number regardless of it being from w***ver they say - it's just another ploy to get you to give them a credit card number so that they can try to use it. Karma is going to get these people if it hasn't already - I know it will one way or the other...it always comes back - just like the saying, 'what you put out, you bring about'.
Just received call from this number like many seem to have today. Glad I found this page! I don't have a card with that company.
Please do not fall for this scam. I am curious on how they get your phone number though...
I didn't answer the call so they left a message. I don't have rewards point or a card with them. They did mention a website, but not one that I was familiar with. Out of curiosity, I tried to return the call several times, but never got through. I believe that it was a spam call since I give almost no one my cell phone number.
Claimed to be a call from Barclay fraud and asked to enter CC info...when I didn't they even had a Spanish option...***g up and searched the number and found this page...glad I did! Beware!
Received a call whch went to voicemail. The voicemail indicated that a hold may have been placed on my account due to fraudulent activity. The message mentions barclaycardus.com. I do not have a credit card by that name. An altrnate call back # of 302-255-8888 was left as well. Ignoring.
This is definitely a is a scam. Any prompt to enter your CC# is not legal.
Called on my cellphone today and left a voicemail about my Barclay credit card (which I do not have one!) and that it may be frozen due to fraudulent activity. Did not call the number back because I****umed it was a scam, although I did do a google search of the number and landed here where I am seeing many others with the same situation! Definitely a scam!
Called my cell phone today, stating possible fraudulent activity on my Dividend miles card, and a hold was placed on account. I contacted my credit card company and they noted that they did not have any such activity noted on my card. Obviously a scam based on what I am seeing below. Never call a number back, only contact your credit card company through # on the card (or through online chat feature if signed in online).
They called my cell phone and it displayed as +86 66117737 (which I've never had anything formatted like that before) and left a VM. It said it was card services fraud protection, there was fraudulent activity on a dividend miles card. They were placing a temporary hold on the account unless I contacted them. They were from Barkley Credit Card (never heard of them, definitely a scam).
it was a call about a barclay credit card that i do not have.
Called to report fraud on Barkley credit card, not a card I own, immediately prompted me for CC number. Most likely a scam.
Received a call and sent it to voice mail. Claimed there was fraudulent behavior on my Barkley credit card which I do not have. Calling the number back, I received an automated reply for me to enter my account number. This sounds realistic, but is completely bogus.
Called TWICE on cell phone. Left no message. Immediately called back, number not in service.
An automated voice left a message stating that this is "card services fraud protection" regarding fraudulent activity on my "dividend miles" card, and that a temporary hold had been placed on my card. I have no such card. The recording later stated that this was from Barkley Card. Left an alternate number of 302-255-8888. If you ever receive a call about fraudulent activity on your card, immediately **** up and contact your credit card company USING THE NUMBER PRINTED ON YOUR CARD. Never call a number provided by the caller.
Scammer claiming****ential fraud on my credit card. Barkley. I have no credit card from Barkley's so this is another fraud scamming phishing scheme!
Called my cell phone. Card acct. frozen due to fraudulent charges. Please click o #1 or card holder should call this no. back. Too bad these people can 't be caught!!
They called my cell phone & left a voice mail stating to call back Card Services regarding my credit card account. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!! They are a fraudulent company, they c****e their phone number several times, there is no way to call them back & advise them to remove your name & number from their call list.
see Jim's comment on 4/13; same thing except I did not bother calling my credit card company
Its a scam
Sounds like a scam. Called about a credit card I don't have.
Scammer claiming****ential fraud on my credit card. Barkley or so****ing like that. I called my credit card company and there was no such call place today from them, so this is another fraud scamming phishing scheme!
April 13, 2015 11:35AM, well recorded message, sounds like a professional job, informing recipient that a Barclay World Dividend Miles account is frozen "due to suspected fraudulent activity." Of course I have no such card, so one can reasonably conclude, based on the volume of people receiving a call about a card they do not have, that these callers are up to fraudulent activity themselves. Now to call the real Barclay Bank number and report these activity.
called cell phone w/ a fraud alert ... wanting me to call back ..
Called my elderly mom on her cell. Said her Barclays Dividend miles card had been compromised. She doesn't even have a Barclay's card.
Called on cell number, call back number not in service
Very official sounding, but is a scam. Tell me a card I cancelled years ago was being misused.
SCAM. Fck these guys who pull this sht.
They were telling me that my credit card had been frozen due to fraudulent charges and to call them back at this phone #. Luckily, I was smart enough to go to my card carrier's actual website to look up their real phone number. I called my card holder and no such call had been placed and my card was not frozen. Obviously, these people are looking for people who will give them all their credit card info. BEWARE!
They left me a voicemail stating my World MasterCard has been put on hold because of possible fraudulent charges. I don't have a "World MasterCard" but I promptly checked the two Mastercards I do have and those accounts are both fine. Based on my experience and everyone else's comments here, I believe this is a scam.
Got a message left on BOTH my cell phones. Hope no unsuspecting some falls for it!
I got a call on my cell that said my Barclay master card had fraudulent charges and was on hold. I don't have a master card from them so must be scam.
Received a voice message on my cell that my MasterCard had fraudulent charges and my card was on hold. Called my MC 1 800 number on credit card and customer service rep said this is a scam and to NOT call them back.
On Thurs 08/07/14, at 8:08PM Central US Time, female bot voice left a message on my cellphone voicemail stating that my Barclay World Mastercard, which I never had, was possibly used for unauthorized charges and would be suspended until I called. Just out of curiosity I tried the number using my LANDLINE phone and got the message that "this number is not in service." I then tried with my cellphone and got through to "Barclay card account security group" asking for my 16-digit account number. I ***g up.
Yep, a scam attempt. Called and left rhe same voicemail as tbe other commenters stated.
Scam!
This is a scam!!!!!
They said they were the fraud department for Barclay master card. Wanted my full 16 digit account number and they would connect me. I gave all zeroes and ones three consecutive times and it finally ***g up on me. Beware
Same as h8ter, exactly what happened to me. They sounded very authentic until they asked for my complete card #, then I knew it was a scam.
Total scam I don't gave Barclay MC
Own a MC account, but they didn't leave a voicemail. Sounds like a phishing call. Looks like a lot of people just got contacted at the same time
Left a voice mail. Saying to call about a fraud alert. Called the number back and it initially sounds official, HOWEVER the only way to talk to customer service is to enter a CC number. Big red flag.
mentioned Barkley masterccard world account ... do not have any Barkley cards .... scammers
Called my husbands mobile phone and left message about fraud on mastercard. They were going to suspend r account. We dont have a mastercard Or anything from the company mentioned Barkley masterccard world account.
Talked about a mastercard fraud, and I should call them back. The thing is, I don't have mastercard, I have VISA.
They are trying to get my debt card info. Should the government and the FBI ***ting these people down?
Attempting to gather my credit card information.
Apparent phishing scam to gather credit card info
