Leave a CommentClearly a scam. I received the same letter described in others posts. American Airways does not exist! It is American Airlines. Not to mention the fact that a multi-million dollar company wouldn't have proper letterhead? I have letterhead and I don't even conduct business. Don't fall prey.
I got the exact same USPS mail, no return address on envelope, American Airways on top of the letter, talking about free tickets, and ask me to call 866-622-8523. It looks like a scam.
Just received a letter from American Airways offering an award of two free round trips to any way on the continental area. This sound like a scam.
Just received a letter from American Airways with an award up to $1,350. Clearly a scam especially since there was no return address and it was handwritten.
I got the exact same mail as Doug: No return address on envelope, American airways on top of the letter, talking about free tickets, and ask me to call 866-622-8523. I didn't call, didn't receive call from it, because it looks like a scam.
On 04MAY2013, I received a USPS snail-mail letter, with my Rhode Island address hand written, no return address on envelope, mailed from P***nix Arizona the day before. Short typed letter with American Airways and logo on top, stating that I must respond by 08MAY2013 for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets. Note, no address in letter, only a phone number 1-866-622-8523. Quick Google search showed others received same letter. I did not bother calling them, but may next time at the airport, where a row of pay phones are available, to cost them $1 per call that they answer. That also keeps them from getting my phone number. Note: they did NOT call me, but I had to select that because a letter selection is not listed.
I received a letter from "American Airways"(?) saying I qualified for 2 round trip tickets. Scam? probably. This is the number at bottom of page.
