That my card had been closed. I do t have a Fifth Third account and never have!
Says my Fifth Third debit card is closed. Yet, I don’t even have an account with them and what does “closed” mean? This is a scam for sure.

I recieved a text message (copy/pasted below). The 866 phone number is an automated system asking for your 16 digit debit card number and other personal information, claiming to be Fifth Third bank. The phone number the phishing text came from is one digit short of standard ten digit numbers: (410) 200-504. TEXT MESSAGE: "FRM:FifthThird Debit Closed SUBJ:Call (866) 664-6762 MSG::9321

5th bank wanting card number. Never had an account with that bank.
They said my account was locked but I have no account with them. I called and they asked for my card number. SCAM!!
Says "Debit Closed!" and gives a phone number and a code to call. Even if you were a Fifth Third Bank customer, the poorly written message and the NINE notifications I received in quick succession - all from different numbers - make it pretty clear this is a scam. Plus, the phone number doesn't match Fifth Third's.
