Your bank would/should never call and ask you this info as they already know the routing number and account number!!! these people are trying to scam your mother and will use that info to RIP HER OFF!!! You need to file a report with the phone company, the police, and the bank personally (at your/her own local known bank ***nch number). REPORT THEM!
My 77 year old mother had a call today from this number and they told her the bank had been hacked into and needed her info so they could block any transactions that she did not do. They wanted routing # and to verify the account #, then asked her DOB for the check to make sure it was her. They also wanted the last check # that she had written.
