Leave a CommentI get calls everyday from Anthem blue Cross, with "helpful" advice about medical care. The calls are automated with this number for response 866-837-3734.Anthem Blue Cross says they do not call. This must be fishy. Anthem Blue Cross has no intention to follow-up this illegal fishing. It is recommended to drop Anthem blue Cross as they are non-responsive.
Tom is right. It's legit. If you need help, call your insurance carrier to be sure. Peace.
This is a LEGITIMATE call. California has some new laws, and your insurance company will be calling you to collect demographic information. This is not a sales call or a phishing scam. It's just your insurance carrier trying to collect some information they're required to collect and to inform you that translation services are available. (Never mind the irony of sending a message in English to tell people that translators are available.)Since you already have a relationship with this company, the do not call list does not apply. Since this is not a sales call, the do not call list does not apply.
Call came at 7:57pm PST on 04 March 2009. Before I could get up and pick this call from 866-873-3734, it went to voice mail. A lady voice asked to call back above number three times, regarding important information on the health insurance with Anthem BlueCross. Yes I am with anthem blue cross. But googled this number, I arrived here. In any case I called anthem blue cross which is 800-677-6669( not the above fake number), automated voice said office hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm PST. I am going report this number to FTC.gov.

same female voice recorded message: 'to share important information regarding free language****istance services we provide our members, please call us toll free 8668373734 from your home phone and have your health care ID handy, this is anthem blue cross, please call us for important information, call us toll free from your home phone.'I am with blue cross and first was outraged for their arrogance to disturb me at home with unsolicited preposterous offers, after that checked blue cross site ready to complain, only to find out blue cross customer service number has nothing to do with that SPAM asking for health care ID and return call from home number.
Female voice Anthem Blue Cross of California. Offering language****istance. Not about to call them back considering they already have all the information they'd need to know about me. Maybe it's legitimate, but it doesn't impress me when they aren't even configured to send their company name and it shows up as Out of Area. At least the bill collectors who call me by mistake show their company name in Caller ID!
On answering ma****e: female recorded voice from Anthem Blue Cross of California. Calling with important information about free language****istance services. Recording said to call back from home phone and have health care ID handy. I don't think so! Glad I checked this website.
Answered, but no one responded,
Incomplete Prerecorded Voice left at my Voicemail since I did not pick up my cell when the ma****e called.Female voice asking me to call this number as Anthem Blue Cross needs to talk to me with a very important annoucement.Since this was fishy, I called Antehm Blue Cross (the number behind my card) and they said they did not need to talk to me.Figured this is a hoax as they could ask me for DOB or SSN if I called them back.I never called this 800 number and I am glad I did not.
Just received this, I do have anthem and I am in CA, but I'll ignore that voicemail they left because they have my mailing address if they need it.
female recorded voice from 'Anthem Blue Cross' stating California now offers translation services or language services or so****ing like that due to new regulations. Was asked to enter my date of birth. Seems either su****ious or inappropriate to call my cell phone during the day, so I entered random numbers to see what would happen. She thanked me and wished me good health and ***g up. At least the recording was pleasant.
Answered when the phone rang and no one responded
