I did the same thing, I just pray that wasn't enough info to ruin me.

I received this call about an online application I had submitted and GAVE them my SS# but nothing else.  I'm probably *****ed.

I just got a call today from 1-866-838-7952 asking me for my information about opening a checking account, they made the mistake and used my maiden name that I have not used in 20 years and I had already spoke to BofA the morning before.  I cursed them out and called Bank of America said the number does not belong to them and they did not call me about a checking account. Does anyone know who the***** these people are???? Obviously it's a scam.

This number is a phishing scam, I called them back and asked them how I can stop receiving calls from them, a man told me to pretend that I am that "Jorge Ortiga" and go through the account process which would require me to give out my personal information then call them back with some verification number so they can stop calling me. SCAM!

same issue for me - they keep calling me about an account name that is not mine (before i even had an account with B of A). Of course, they will answer the phone as B of A when you ring - otherwise it would be pretty silly. I have no idea if it is real or not but call the main B of A number and talk to a human there - they can confirm it or chase it up. If a company ever asks your information after they ring you, refuse - it could be anyone - call them back on the main number listed in the phone book/your paperwork

This really is Bank of America - it is their division of new applications for new accounts. If you received a phone call from this number they are trying verify your information to complete the transaction. If you got a call from this number and did not recently apply for anything with Bank of America... I would return the phone call because someone may have!

Yeah, it's a fishy number - if you think of it, don't give any of your information to that number because it's obviously complete bu***hit.

They said they were bank of America and I gave them my s.s.#.Then they asked for more info,and I then ***g up.

i got the same message.  wrong name and everything.  su****ious, i think.

I've gotten two robo-calls from that number. As far as I can tell, it's genuine, BUT weird. Real people answer. I've gotten calls from them asking me to confirm a request for a new savings and/or checking account. I tell them I've made no such request, and they apologize for dialing a wrong number. It could be a sophisticated phishing scheme, I suppose, but they tell me that the names on the "service requests" are differen than my own. Weird, very weird. No caller ID shown, only the number 866-838-7952. They identified themselves as B of A when they answered my calls.

Voicemail claims to be Bank of America, and asked me to call back.I called the real B of A customer service number (not this one!) and they told me IS IT NOT a B of A number - maybe a phone scam.
