Leave a CommentSame deal here, get a call from a women who told me I was a Top 4 winner in a sweepstakes. I asked what sweepstakes, she responded Lincoln Navigator. I asked when was this sweepstakes because I dont believe I ever signed up for one - she said some 6 to 18 months ago which I know I hadnt done. Anyway, she goes on with my name, address, email and such and directs me to call a Mr Russell @ 1-866-516-7311. I googled the Lincoln Navigator sweepstakes and SCAM came across, so I thank all of you who wrote in about it. Hey Mr Russell, there is a special place in HE double hockey sticks for people like you! I filled out a complaint form with the FTC online - very easy to do! Let's give Mr. Russell (Bill) what he deserves - Oh by the way, great alias Mr Bill Russell (us baseball fans know of the former LA Dodgers shortstop Bill Russell back in the 1970/80's).
My elderly ***her received a call from "Mr. Russell" informing him that he had won a 2009 Lincoln Navigator. Told him that he was with Global Travel. He wanted to know my ***hers income. He said his company was out of Chicago, IL. When I asked Mr. Russell where Global Travel was located he said Michigan. I asked what city in Michigan and he replied you are asking too many questions. Mr. Russell ***g up the phone. SCAM!!!
I got this call yes****ay. It was really hard to hear the woman on the other end. She had a Hispanic accent and had that call center sound in the background. She said my code word was "Mr. Russell" and to call 866-388-1526 to claim my prize. I called from my cell phone and got an answering ma****e to leave my name and number. Months ago, I got charged a monthly subscription fee to so****ing to my land line through my phone company. They can do things with your phone number, so be careful not to give this information out. I got the matter resolved, but I am much more aware of signing up for free stuff. I haven't entered in any sweepstakes so this made me very su****ious.
I got the call also. I actually called back and left "Mr Russell" my name and number (there not a lot they can do with that info). Anyways, Mr Russell called me back. On the voicemail greeting he sounded like a congested white man. When he called me, he sounded like a congested black man. Strange! Anyways, he was carrying on about my information not coming up on the screen. Bogus, I worked in a callcenter in college so I know that's not true, especially since the person who originally called had all my info. I asked Mr Russell he was aware that the FTC was investigating him. So anyways, after *****ing with the guy, I ended up ****ing up on him. This obviously is a scam of some sort. I should have let him give more of his schpeal, but I was too focused on messing with him. Oh well, maybe the next person can actually venture into that territory. By the way, Mr. Russell called me back from phone number 773-649-9226 and had only Chicago, IL as the listing (which is a violation of FCC and FTC caller ID regulations... used to work for AT&T).
Got the call last week - I won a navigator! It took me a week to call MR.Russel but I did (******) I almost fell for it. Luckily I know smart people and they talked me out of it. I just wanted to win so****ing. Curiosity almost got the best of me.
Yea! I won a Navigator or other prize too. What's odd is that they had all my info, but my husband's e-mail address. Diane Foster is the one who called me and I had to call back to 1-866-516-7311 (Bill Russell). I was supposed to leave my name and direct number to get a call back from Bill within 5 minutes. Maybe they'd have better luck trying to give away Smart cars...... :)
Ya, I got the same!! Go here and file a complaint. https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/I am doing it now
Got the call today !!! I couldn't even understand if she did say what I won ... but I did hear clearly the number I was to call was 866-516-7311 ... what is the email address for the FTC?Ditto on the "weird"...
Got a similar call today. Woman told me to call Mr. Russell for a free Lincoln. Got a number (1-866-516-7311) but only got an answering ma****e. Can't figure out what the scam is here, cause so far no one can seem to even get a hold of this guy. He already has my phone number and name, and the call is free I believe, so I can't figure out what more he's ***ning by me just calling his answering ma****e. wierd.
I join the m*****, yes, I too got the same claim, email address, legitimate home address, and phone number...how they tied this to my phony email address is kind of bothersome...anyway, same scam, Lincoln Navigator...I'm a ******...whoohoo! Thanks for all the posts, I went directly to the Internet to check this before proceeding...CAVEAT EMPTOR!
I just sent a formal complaint to the FTC, I encourage all others to do the same.Enjoy your Navigators ;-)
Just got a call from a person that was apparently Sara Johnson...claiming I had won a online contest and was promised one of the four major prizes, the grand prize being a lincoln navigator. They did have my current email address, actual address, and phone number, which of course being an idiot I verified. She was good, saying that she was not a solicitor....Does anyone have any idea why they would do this? Thoughts on if they are trying to steal iden***ies after verifying information. Before I called "Mr. Russell" the prize director I of course googled this number and found out this information, so at least I never called and left them a message. I am certainly going to report this scam, is anyone interested in finding out if there is a common thread a**** the callers, maybe we could figure out what this scam is and maybe bring a stop to it.
Hello, I too received a phone call at work yes****ay stating that I had won a Lincoln Navigator along with other prizes from a man named Sergio Hernandez (phone number to call back is 1-866-768-9529). I first of course looked this up online because I was skeptical and then found these postings. Thank you so much to all of you who posted comments on this!! Had it not been for these comments, I would have really gotten my hopes up. Just to play the game I decided to call the number back and it was a voice mail for Bill Russell-prize patrol claiming that he does not get in the office until 11:00 and to leave my name and number and he would call back btwn 11:30-12:30. I will call back like I said, to play the game. It makes me furious that there are so many scammers out there! I'll keep you posted.
Yup, I got a caller that said I won a Lincoln Navogator and other prizes, and to call Mr Russell, at 1 866 768 9527. This is probably a scam as we haven't entered anyone in any contest or sweepstakes. I sincerely hope someone report them to the government or so****ing. Don't get scammed! =)
I, too, just received a message from Sergio Hernandez stating that I had submitted a (currently valid) email address in an online sweepstakes. They also had a valid address for me. He neglected to mention which sweepstakes it was he was calling about, though.Anyhow, the call-back number was 866-768-9527, but the CID for the call registered as 773-486-3053. After a little digging, I got a name of Therisa Thomas who is the supposed owner of the number, along with an address of:7041 S Parnell Ave,Chicago, IL 60621It's a "south-side" address and is a house. Judging from the Google street-view of the address it is in a shady neighborhood, so it is most definitely a scam. I will be calling the BBB to report it.
It is no longer Sergio Hernandez, it is now Sara Johnson and guess what? We also got a Lincoln Nav, with the price of gas I pay you to keep the Nav. Will keep my little Pepe at 34 MPG. Thanks for posting this, save me a phone call. Thanks to all the lucky winners!
Wow, I get to join the list of all the happy Lincoln Navigator winners!Good ol' "Sergio Hernandez" called me too from BROWNS COMM at 773-486-3053, and left a message telling me to call 1-866-854-0646 to claim my prize. They tried to convince me that this was all legit by quoting my mailing address and email. Unfortunately for them though the mailing address they had on me was 3 years outdated. Duh!!!!
Hey what do you know! I won a Lincoln Navigatior too!!!! Sergio Fernandez called me and said that I registered an email address that I haven't had for a year so I knew I never summited that email. He told me to call back 866-854-0646. I guess I'll just keep driving my FJ Cruiser.
A man named Sergio Fernandez called claiming that my email address had been submitted for an online sweepstakes, and that I had been selected as a winner of a Lincoln Navigator or "other prize". He was fast talking, and I had to listen to the message 3 times to get all the information. I was instructed to call 1-866-854-0646 to claim my prize. I called back from my cell phone and got a voice mail telling me it was Bill Russell (prize director) and that I must leave my name and a call back number, and someone would return my call within five minutes. I did not leave any information, they have my name and number, and if this is a legitimate dealing, they should call me back. Interestingly, I have never registered my email address for a sweepstakes.
Received phone call from 773-486-3319 telling me I won a Lincoln Navigator on a recent on-line contest. Provided lots of information such as address and valid e-mail. Told me to call 866-854-0646. I did and got a voicemail (I know I'm a fool). I left me name and call back number (since they already had it). I think this is a scam.
