I am freaking out.  I have been receiving calls from a company for the last few months.  They leave messages but never leave a call back number.  It ia a computer generated voice that instructs me to press "9" (or so****ing like that).  The woman said that she was calling to settle a debt.  She continually asked for my credit card or bank account number.  When I would not provide her with the number, she got very aggressive and treatened that I would not only owe the money due, but the additional $1500 attorney fees.  These calls have come from area codes including: 408, 716, 505, 866, and 800.  Any advise?

I get calls from this company at least a couple times a week, they call from 712 area codes, 402 area codes, and NY area codes. It's QAR or Frank Falzone a collection agency and attorney based out of New York and Atlanta. They are shady and don't even have licenses in many states to operate. They will try every scare tactic to get your bank account information. Oh, and they don't have your social security number. The social security admin. will only give your SS# for things like child support cases. The automated messages are so garbled, I don't know if the person they are looking for is even someone in my household. Sometimes someone named Kendra calls but she doesn't say who she is looking for, just to call back. I saw on other boards that they lie, say that you are involved in a lawsuit with a family member, blah blah. Anything to get your bank card #. If you don't call back with the account #, they **** up on you. LOL. I don't bother calling these people back. Let 'em keep calling. I figure if it was that important, they'd send a letter. When the sheriff shows up with an actual judgement, I'll work with them. Until then, they can save their pennies on the calls, they won't be hearing from me.

Does not sound consistent, for s****ers YOU are supposed to receive a NOTICE first.Why bother doin all the leg work?  They are a shady operation trying to use scare tactics in getting $$$ from you every way possible. There is a process involved which is spelled out in the F.D.C.P.A. which can be found online.

A Kendra from QAR called and said that this call was directly for me and that either I or my attorney should call back in the next 72 hours at 1-866-892-4564 and gave me an extension.
