I live Texas and Ranger Fairbanks made it to my home today. I call CitiMortgage because I have worked the plan with them on my current mortgage status. I have no pending issues and was curious why this middle aged lady walked up to my friend mowing my yard and handed him a brown envelope said she was with the Mortgage Company and walked away. She did not say CitiMortgage either. CitiMortgage states they send certified letters not people to take care of pending issues.

Ranger Fairbanks was at my house yes****ay and I live in MD.  I called the number and it was my mortgage company.  I asked about this Ranger Fairbanks and the Rep I spoke with said that he is the Project Manager or so****ing at the mortgage co and the point of the cards is to get customers to call in.  I don't like this tactic at all.  Especially considering I AM in touch with them. I don't like random strangers knocking at my door.  If I don't know someone is stopping by, I normally don't answer.

I too had this arrive on my door today and was very happy I found this site before I made any calls! I was not home and do not know what the person looked like but it sure is disturbing! I am calling my mortgage company to let them know about the paper!I too had the name Ranger Fairbank and that was what made me unsure about.My flyer also mentions Homeownership preservation foundation phone #! I don't know if that is a reliable source or not!

came home tonight and fold envelope in our mail box stating all of the same info as the rest now someone was home and didn't see anything or anyone so no help there but i am going to the police tomm morning we are on a private roadif they swing buy a***n a got a few surprise's i am in NH

black woman came to our house door today, Friday afternoon, with white sealed enlevope climing she is only a private contractor to deliver messages and handed me an envelope while making a statement it is from Citi Mortgage and it is very important for my husband to call CitiMortgage. As I steped in and  opened envelope it was dated note to call Ranger Fairbank at 1-866-940-5787 - I sure had heard about nationvide scam and didn't made a call but want others to know: DO NEVER call phone number provided by scammers - always check first with current mortgage company to find where you stand if behind your payments to****ure you don't become a victim of bogus company or part of scam - trustworthy company will always identify who they are and will provide all neciessary information so customers could check who they deal with.

I just got one today in Denver. It's obviously so****ing bogus. I'm renting so don't even have a mortgage. The piece of paper inside the envelope was just like you all described, with the date filled in, but in my case, no name or phone number filled in to call. Delivered by 20-so****ing guy in baseball cap and sweatshirt (viewed through ***phole) who pounded on door twice, but when I called "who is it" just left the thing on the **** and took off. I thought it was pretty weird. So I looked up "SPI-020-6.05" via google -- the only thing I could find on the form to identify it -- and found this thread. Whew. Relief just to know it's some scam not so****ing from the gas company, etc., i.e., so****ing I have to pay attention to/worry about.

We just had this happen my parents are visiting me in AZ and this happened at their house in Michigan. We called the police after finding this site and another site. Thank you all so much!!! My brother is a cop and gave the police a full description including the license plate.

We just had the same thing happen today. Unknown dark skinned male took a pic of our mailbox and then handed us a manilla envelope with the same info about calling.  I called the number and it connected me with Citi Mortgage who doesn't have a clue about who "Ranger Fairbank" is.  I'm going to call the fraud department on Monday to talk to them about it.  We are current on our mortgage so it makes no sense to us.

Today at about 3pm some guy came in front of my door, hes a dark skin person in a white pick up truck with cover, and left this envelope with a message: IMPORTANT/IMPORTANTE.  He took picture of my house. And print this name:RANGER FAIRBANKS MORTGAGE, CO. Who is this person? I am already in transaction with a lawyer. So like the other people had said: Who is this person?

I received the same envelope, same name addressed to my landlord. I'm in Michigan.

This is the second time that we've recieved this envelope ****ing outside our door. On both occasions we were not home to see what the person or persons looked like, i did have someone (neighbor) call us and said that there was a car in our driveway and explained that it was a gray/silver SUV and a bald man who was at your home and ***ody was here...This is soo **** disturbing and we need to put a stop to it!!!!!

An manilla **** tag envelope was left on my front door. 2 large African American individuals were in the front yard when I answered the side door. They claimed they were "City Inspectors". The one individual asked for my husband and I told him he was not here. He then said to check the front door. The second individual had a camera. I have been left 2 brown envelopes.One two weeks after settling with citimortgage.I would not trust this I asked my representative from citi mortgage about it said he never heard of that and they do not send people to houses,they call and send letters certified if needed.

The brown envelope appeared on our three times.  This time it was printed on a 3x5 index card.  Pretty tacky if it really is from CitiMortgage.

Hispanic man in red truck hand delivered a ****py little note written in  English/Spanish translations--Important---Please Call--Ranger Fairbanks.I asked what he wanted--he gave me the note. I said what is it for--he replied "maybe you refinance at citifiancail????I not know. I only deliver message". If he comes around a***n, I will make sure my dogs get a good taste of him!

We got a brown envelope on our front door today with the phone number 1-866-940-5787 saying it was from Ranger Fairbanks of CitiMortgage and to call right away.  We have been having trouble paying the mortgage but have already worked out an offer with the mortgage company and signed and sent in the paperwork, so why would they be leaving notes? This is very strange and su****ious to me. I wouldn't call this number and give any vital information with all the mortgage scams going on out there.

I got a brown envelope a guy tied to my door **** as described below with nothing but a phone number - no company name etc. Just call 866-940-5787 IMPORTANT/Importante (we are expecting your call today). What the heck? Who is this. If it is Citimortgage they already have our contact info/phone numbers etc.

A bald guy came to my door today, he drove a black VW. I spoke briefly through the window, he said he was there for CitiMortgage. I told him to leave whatever he had outside. It was a door ****er with a paper inside claiming he was R. Fairbank. He kept writing so****ing in a small book, even as he went to get in his car. I suppose he was****essing our vehicles and other****ets. We are probably at the brink of foreclosure in Florida. I live on one acre, so before he could pull out of my driveway I grabbed the camera and took pictures of him and his car. He drove slow in front of my house, and along the side. (corner lot) I have several pictures in case he comes a***n and I have to call the cops. Perhaps if I get a Private Property sign out front I could get him for trespassing.
