Leave a CommentThis not a scam this is a real company they Collect Debts for US BANK OR ELAN FINANCIAL. NOw youmay say that you dont have a credit card with them but please remember that one of your cards may have been financed by they bank. Examples are Bath and Body Works and Some of your Credit Unions if they are calling you there is a bill for someone in your name or your family does or maybe the person who had the telephone number before you. They ARE NOT A SCAM!!! Now the reason that they ask for your information is because they are a contracted collection agency and they are required to ask this to update the system on every call and if they don't they will miss points on their quality scores you dont not have to give it but they are required to ask so please dont be ******* the reps they are just doing their jobs. Ok so they are a company call CACI don't know what that means they do call all the time they can call some of the calls are in error because the bill may be paid before it is updated in their system. They are not the bank they are a contracted Collection Agency for the bank so they do have all the rights that the bank has. Here is some advice for you inform yourself with the FDCPA rules and regulations and if you find and can do***ent that they are indeed breaking rules then you have a legal defense and you can follow with legal action. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm You can call in and ask to speak with a Supervisor and if you do that ask for Jeff Shawn Don Rich Ashley Greg Ben or LaTonya. Do your research because you do not want to ruin your credit.
This is a comment for Pooh ****. I pay my f^*gin bills. I have excellent credit. Someone else doesn't pay theirs and gave my phone number for a reference. I have tried to be patient and explain that my number is not a way to reach them and to please remove me from their call log and still different ones call and try to get information from me. It is not my job to provide that information on the person. It's their debt not mine and I did not give permission for my number to be given out. So the collection agency should respect my request and stop calling me. I work graveyard and I don't need those **** calls waking me up every day!
its NOT a Scam we are an onsite collections agency wrking with us bank and also elan financial....if u stoped gettin these **** credit cards and not paying your bills on them then we would have to call your homes etc to let u know what u didnt pay and why do u have to pay....ITS UR CREDIT NOT OURS...were just tryin to help....and if u pay attention all of our calls are monitored and recorded and we do have to go over them each month for evaluations....so either dont get a credit card or...JUST PAY UR F^*!N BILLS!!
I have been getting calls from this number everyday....2 and 3 times a day! I never answer but they do leave a voicemail. All the voicemail ever says is "Thank you for your time." and its the same ******* the voicemail everytime. I don't know what they want but its getting really annoying!!

Honey 90 can **** a wener.
A woman called my home line saying she is from US Bank. My mom gave her my cell number. A message was left on my cell phone: the woman introduced herself as Leneice??? from US Bank and provided with number and extention 866-952-6297 X2229. She called later on my cell phone stating that she is from US Bank collection office as I was late with the payment and we need to arrange the payment, although it will not be taken right away. She tried to get my date of birth. SHE KNEW MY LAST 4 DIGITS OF SOCIAL SECURITY!!! When I said that I will contact my local US Bank ***nch, she s****ed pressuring me saying that I will have to pay fines. I reported the conversation to US Bank ***nch and they said that this is NOT US Bank number. IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!
Ok, first thing. the 6297# is card member services when you call them. They ask for your phone number before saying for which company because it is a collections agency that does collecting for both US Bank and Elan Financial (another user above was correct- Elan Financial handles this issuing and maintenance of credit card for financial ins***utions and it does not necessarily tell them which one.) By asking for your phone number that they called you on, they can pull up the file with your information that contains the that phone # ( Like when you did a search for this #, this site popped up...same concept). They will then ask you to state your name and verify the last four of you SSN#. Another thing, all of you need to go look up details on the FDCPA. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. It clearly says that debt collectors can call between 8am and 9pm in your time zone. It also says that if a message is left, the collector can call back in four hours. If no message is left, they can call back in two hours. There is also only certain time frames in a day where leaving messages is practical. With most collection agencies it is the beginning of the afternoon till early evening in that agencies time zone. "It's a personal business matter with ______." It's true. At some point or another you were asked by the place issuing your credit card if there was anyone else you wanted to speak on your behalf regarding your account. Guess what? If you said NO ONE ELSE, then they collector cant discuss it with someone else....Back to the FDCPA, it is a clear vilotaion to disclose the existence of a debt to a 3rd party. As for all you of that called your bank to verify that it was the collections department- if you actually talked to someone that was a manager, they would verify because they know how the bank works. If you just talked to some operator, they more than likely have no clue that the bank hires other companies to do thier collections. I work for a collections agency and I love my job. I'm not calling to harass you or embarass you about your debt. I consider my position as a customer service job. I am trying to help you get out of debt by working with your cir***stances and setting up a payment. And no, my paycheck is not effected if you pay or not... just my job performance. LESSON> Pick up your phones. Lose the at***udes. Listen to what they are saying. Google the "collectors pledge.' We really are trying to helpI know sometimes we can get at***udes, but think about it. If you had to call someone as a part of your job and they s**** to curse and attack you as an individual, would you get crabby as well?As far as the 'unprofessional excess noise in the background'... are you telling me you dont talk at work?
it is USBank, i called my USBank and verified.
i called and reported this number to us bank. They said they looked into it and it is not a number that belongs to them. they were sending this number to card member services and the fraud apartment. Do not answer/ do not give out any information. If they call you, please call and report it to u.s bank 1-800-872-2657, cause they are doing an investigation on it.
he needs to go back to the mental ins***ution
I got a bunch of calls from them, for which no voice mails were left. Finally a few days in, they left one saying it was U.S. Bank, and to call them back. So I did. They knew how much my next payment was for, and how much I owed on my credit card. I didn't make the connection for a few hours after the call, but I have been having problems with having my mail stolen, and they could have gotten that information from my bank statement. They asked me to verify my account number, my social security number, my telephone number, and my address. They sounded very unprofessional, and the operator kept saying, "so you don't have no problems." I was surprised by his grammar, but didn't think much of it. I feel ******, because I gave them my routing number. I'm on the phone with U.S. Bank right now, will update when I know what they say.
I have received 5 calls on my cell phone over the past two days from this number there were no messages left. I have been in the hospital so my account with USBank was past due. I tried calling the number back and it went straight to a call center operator, one day it was a male the next day it was a female. I believe this is a scam!!!
they called me 6 times and left 1 message sayin to call them back for us bank and when i did they said its private information and wouldnt tell me what they were
They called me 4 times and never left a message. I finally called back and demanded to know who they were. The lady gave me very little information. She said that it was Elan Financial, who handles credit cards for banks. The only reason I know this is because I used to work for a bank. Im guessing if you have ever filled out an application for a credit card through a bank (that uses Elan) your number is still in their system. I would ignore the calls. You never know what can get leaked over the phone or the internet. Iden***y theft ****s and no one should experience that. I hope this was helpful..
I get multiple calls from this number, EVERYDAY. I never answer- they never leave a message. But once, the person on the other line forgot to **** up the phone, and everything that went on after was recorded into my voice mail. From the sound of it, it's a scam~ Lots of background noise, and the ******* the other line sounded really young and unprofessional. If someone from US Bank really needed to get a hold of you, I'm sure they'd at least leave voice mail. DON'T GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE unless you know 100% that is your bank~!!!
I get calls from this number many times a day. Early in the morning and late at night. They never leave a message
This has to be a scam. They called a friend of mine. I called the number back. asked who they were. She said card member services... for USBank collections. I myself do have an account in USBank collections and when I told her I was calling about my account she asked for my phone number. USBank doesnt ask for a phone numnber. They as for your account number ot name or social. I gave her my real phone number, which is my cell that USBank has on file for me. She didnt find an account. You can tell by the noise in the back ground that its a call center. But if you call USBank directly you will get a USBank recording with options to enter your account number. This 866 number answerd on the first ring and no USBank recording. Has to be a scam...
A gal called saying she was from "so****ing financial bank" and that she needed my routing and account number because my payment is late and there would be fees. She had the last four digits from a card that had been stolen and cancelled but not from the name of the bank she used. I did not give her any info and she said she would call back which hasn't happened. I called the number and it went to an automated response saying that I was the next call in line and then it disconnected. So beware!
