Leave a CommentI have a friend that dates one of the owners of this company or at least dated one of the oners at one time. First off, they have no collection licence to do collections. the name of the company, LEGAL ACTION RECOVERY, is just an umbrella company that is not even a real company. they operate out of an office in buffalo n.y and tell people they are calling from georgia. The actual name of the company is Global central manegment and and are located at 3060 bailey ave buffalo n.y. the real office phone number is 716-566-9067 and is owned by at least three people. Time and time a***n my friend talks about how they threaten people with law suits that will never take place. she also say's that no matter how much the debt is for real, they add all kind's of money on top of the actual bill. Just out of curiosity I looked them up on the web and this is what I found. I myself work for a real collection agency and people like this give us all a bad name. I do think the debts are valid from what I hear but ***ody will actually file a claim a***nst anyone. Give them a call and ask for walter hargrove. He is the one behind the scam and was put in jail for beating up his pregnant girlfriend. All the owners have been to prison at at time or another mostly for selling drugs. Clearly none of them know how to earn a living without ripping people off.If you have dealings with this company, I would have to say contact the athoritys in buffalo n.y. Enough complaints will no doubt lead to legal action a***nst them and to get shut down.I hope you have not been a victim of these people and if everybody works together, more people will not. One small ****n of advice, Any time a collection agency makes a false threat of a law suit, that is an automatic 1000.00 for the person called and lawyers will take that case quick. Try to record them making threats and you too can get paid
Don't worry about your actions, you are not the only one that did so****ing like that. They did the same thing to me and they scared me so bad that I gave them my bank credit card information to pay part of what they asked me for. They asked for 521.79 and I told them I didn't have it right now and he asked If I could pay at least the 21.79 so I said ok. They took it from my account and then like an IDIOT, I researched them afterwards. I called the Federal Trade Commission and filed a complaint and the woman I spoke with said it sounds like a SCAM because for one the statute of limitation to collect a debt in my state of California is 4 years. They claimed my debt was from 1999. So I warn everyone not to be scared by their threatning calls and do not give them a dime. Call the FTC immediately and know your RIGHTS. I had my credit card at my bank c****ed and filed a complaint with my bank also. They will not be getting anything else from me.Haha to them :)
Boy I am a true idiot. My ***her called me because they received a threatening voicemail from this company stating that all of the above information. Almost identical. I however did have a debt with a payday loan company years ago but my exhusband was to be liable for all debt incurred during our marriage and in return he did not have to pay child support. I pretty much forgot about the loan until this message. The sad thing is that they scared me to ***** and I paid the amount they said I needed to pay which was $540. Did this actually go towards a legitimate debt or did I get scammed? And before anyone says anything, I know it was ******. BUT I also knew that I had a debt out there from around 2005.
I got several calls from this #877-209-5*** and did not answer. They left a message threatening a lawsuit.I did not call them back.Does anyone know who they are? Please let me know if you do. I would very much like to do so****ing about this.
Today 02/23/2010 I came home to a very similar message on my answering ma****e from Joanna, to immediately called her at 877-209-5*** ext 109 about a complaint pending in my county of residence, she warned that if I did not call asap that a summons would be issued and served either at my home or work. These dirt bags will not intimidate me. Any unpaid debts I had were written off at least 9-10 years ago. Joanna will not be receiving a call back from me now or ever, nor will these low lifes ever collect one dime from me.
These are collectors who violate FDCPA guidelines by threatening that a civil suit is being filed in your county. The false impersonation of court officials is a crime. I have already turned one other such firm over to my local district attorney. Send them a debt validation letter, check your credit report for any outstanding debts that match their descriptions and retain a lawyer. Here is their address:Legal Action Recovery1640 Powerferry RoadBldg. 2, Suite 300BMarietta, GA 30067Caller ID: 877-209-5***Caller: Legal Action RecoveryCaller Type: Collection Agency
I had the exact thing happen as Angela. I did however answer the phone when they called my office. I asked for a debt validation and was told that she was not able to help me, that I neeed to speak to an investigator. I did speak to a gentle man who told me he did not have to provide me with anything except to tell me that they would sue me and prosecute me for giving someone an invalid check. I told him that I do not use checks. He said I did not give anyone a "physical" check but allowed them to debit my bank account and the payment for a payday loan from Pro Solutions did not go through. He also told me it was from 06/12/06. I asked him for an address to send a letter and he would not give me one. I called the number back and after much insistence they gave me an address. I am writing a letter asking them to validate the debt. I also checked my bank account and there is NO money deposited in the amount they claim, NO money deposited on the date they mentioned, and there is NO deposit in 2006 from any company by that name. If I owe it, I have no issue paying them...but they now want $840 if they sue me, but are VERY willing to settle it for half now.
i received a call from 877-209-5***, and was left a message at my job stating, I am to call Harvey Lynn &****ociates at this number and ask for ext 109, and speak to Joanna regarding a Civil Matter in my county. She said it was imperative that I return her call before the end of the day. I looked up the number and found this site. I am glad I looked it up before calling. I tried to look up the case number that was left but it was only 6 digits, and my county uses 11 digit case numbers. I am sending a letter as Mr Strohm suggests in a previous post
THAT I WILL BE SUED IN A CIVIL COURT FOR A BALANCE ON A CREDIT CARD THAT WAS WROTE OFF AND WAS OVER 10 YEAR OLD.
I just received a message from my uncle. He was frantic. Told me to call this number. Said he received a call from this number and that I had 24 hours to respond or I would be served with a warrant for my arrest from the sheriff's office. I thought it was rather odd that I would have a warrant for my arrest issued within 24 hours and my uncle was contacted about it. (I am a federal employee.) I think they know where to locate me. My uncle said I needed to call Investigator Maverick. He left me a case number for reference.I called. Investigator Maverick answered the phone. First, he told me the name of the company was Legal Action & Recovery. He lied and said he never told my uncle I would be served with a warrant from the sheriff's office. He said I would be served with papers for a civil judgement at my place of employment. This was in reference to a debt over 12 years old. The original balance was maybe $650. The balance he cited was over $2000. He lied and said my credit report stated I opened the account in 1999 and made a payment. This account has been charged off since 1997. He then told me that when a debt is sold the buyer can make a payment on the account so that it is collectable forever and the statute never runs out. I told him I know my rights. I know the fair debt collection practices act and this was illegal. He kept spewing more lies about the law. I then told him to do what he felt was necessary. I also told him that if I received court papers then I would sue them for my attorney fees and my time off of work. This company is fraudulent. They act as lawyers or government officials. They lie about the law. If you receive a call from them it is best to ignore it. If I didn't know my rights, I would have been scared.
Here's a sample complaint letter to send to dweeebs like this:===Sirs:On at approximately
These idiots called my poor 75 year old mother and scared her half to ***** that I am about to be sued.Funny. If they truly are "special investigators" they would be able to pull my background clearly showing my home, cell, work, etc info. What idiots.
THESE PEOPLE CALLED AND THREATENED ME WITH CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS IF I DID NOT PAY THEM $6,000 DOLLARS ON A $2500 DEBT THAT HAD BEEN WRITTEN OFF OVER 10 YEARS AGO. THEY CLAIMED THEY WOULD SUE ME IN FEDERAL COURT FOR DEFRAUDING A FINANCIAL INS***UTION ON A CREDIT CARD DEBT A DECADE OLD. THEY ALSO CALLED FAMILY AND TOLD THEM A SIMILAR STORY SO I WOULD CALL THEY BROKE FLORIDA LAW AND I AM REPORTING THEM AND THEIR ATTORNEY GOLDSTIEN TO THE FLORIDA BAR****SOCIATION,THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OF FLORIDA AND GEORGIA, THE FBI, AND THE FTC AND AM CONTACTING MY ATTORNEY TO BEGIN CIVIL PROCEEDINGS A***NST THEM FOR VIOLATING THE FDCPA GUIDLINES I HOPE THEY HAVE DEEP POCKECTS JUST LIKE THEY THOUGHT I DID...
He said he was calling about a Civil Lawsuit that was filed in my county and that I was being named as the respondant.
Here's a follow up to my previous message. These s***bags actually called one of my neighbors and asked them to give me a message to call "Jason McLean, Special Investigator" at 877-209-5***. I've contacted my State Attorney General's Office.
My answering ma****e picked up a call from this number today. The caller left a case number and sounded real "official". I was about to check with my local court system but then checked this website first. Thank you SO much for offering this information. I'll now ignore the call.
The person that called said his name was Lomax Bonds from Legal Action Recovery, he had my name but the address he gave was wrong and I have lived in the same place for over 17year. He said he was calling about a Civil Lawsuit that was filed in my county and that I was being named as the respondant. Now that I have read these other posts I will contact the FBI and FTC. I was ready to call and find out more.

ALSO MAKE A COMPLAINT TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL at 4046563300. GET AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE FROM THEM AND BEFORE ****ING UP TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE CALlING THE FTC AND FBI... YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MORE CALLS FROM THEM!
These are just s***bag collectors who violate FDCPA guidelines by threatening that a civil suit is being filed in your county. If the debt were legit you would be receiving official word as you said. They prey on people who are scared enough of the threat of civil action to get a bank draft committment over the phone. Don't give them any info, get their names, and send them a debt validation letter. Here is their address:Legal Action Recovery1640 Powerferry RoadBldg. 2, Suite 300BMarietta, GA 30067
called with a bogus lawsuit to my sister's MNL. they call claiming they have a lawsuit a***nst you. I think the only way you know of a lawsuit is by certified mail not by contacting you thru other people.
