Red Cross. Charities are exempt from the Do Not Call registry. My observation is that most "robo callers" quit after 4 rings, which is the number of rings when most answering services automatically pick up. If you have a land line, your provider may have a way to c****e that number of rings. I set mine to six; if I hear that many rings, I know it's probably a real person, and then look at the caller id.
This is the American Red Cross. Although Caller ID advises "Toll Free Call," if you call the number back a recording answers "American Red Cross." I did not think that the Red Cross needed to resort to harassment calling. In less than a week I received ten calls. Repetative telephone calls without a message. My recommendation - block the call.
