Leave a CommentI got the same call...I went (me and my wife, as requested) and she scratched off the 2500 dollars (after listening for about 55 minutes to why their company has better travel than others, which may or may not be true) and I was overall pleased with my experience...After reading this I'm glad I just went down there to check it out myself. Everyone says "I wonder why they're calling!" and everyone else says "OH IT'S A SCAM!" and if I had read this before I went, I'd be out $2500. Slander. Why would you proceed to make notes about so****ing you don't understand?
I received the same phone call today. This is a scam, a continuation of an older scam (read here http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8668540646 ). Don't waste your time with it.
I received the same call. First a man left a message saying I won a Ford Escape "a****st more prizes". I called the number and got a recorded message, so I left Bill Russell a message. A young lady called me a few minutes later...she listed 4 gifts and went on to verify the info she said I provided on the form (US Citizen or resident, ages 28-72, married). It was correct...despite my misgivings I verified it. She then gave me an address a few miles away from my house and told me that a scratch card would tell me which gift was mine. I asked her when I should go and she said she reads from the screen. The company wants publicity, the gift is free, no strings attached, etc. etc. Then I got an email. Nice pictures, no typos, a written summary of what I was told on the phone. My wife and I will be going to check it out, after all it's down the street...anything funny and I'll post a***n.
Found a thread on this site about a possible scam regarding a phone message about winning a Ford Navigator. I received a voice mail earlier that I had won a Ford Escape, so at least they are keeping it in the same family. No one on the other thread knew what the intent was, except possible to authenticate information for****ential iden***y theft. They left a number to call of 877-418-2687. I did call and heard a message that a Bill Russell would call me back within 15 minutes. Like the contributors to the other thread, I received a call back from a Sara Johnson at 773-598-4530 (I think this is a different number from the other thread). Sara asked me to validate the info I had (according to them) submitted in my email to a travel organization. She asked me to validate that I was a US citizen, that I was between the ages of 24-75, and that my marital status was married. I refused to validate the info and she sounded a little irritated, saying that she was only repeating the info I had given them (yeah, right). Then she asked me the question a***n - was I a US Citizen, etc. I said a***n that I refused to validate the info and she suggested that I research Bill Russell, etc until I was willing to give the info. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the other thread, I will post this message there as well.
