Leave a CommentI get this number called to me regularly. They leave a recorded voice mail asking me to call them back to give them information about someone I know who is in legal trouble. They call me from other numbers as well. 4 times in 4 days. Bullsh*t!
See Bud Hibbs website on how to deal with these job-losers. They can't get real work, so they become penny-ante debt collectors (the debt is dead, but they try to get money on it anyway). The guy left his name as Kevin McNeely. The only McNeely we know is going to prison. Good luck & check out: www.budhibbs.c***ood to see consumer laws have toughened a***nst these guys...
I need to make some corrections because I was so mad typing this:1.Joseph implied he had arranged with my ex to call *my ex* at this number2. I took it down, he tried to get more information out of *me*3.My ex told me he was in the process of paying off old debts and that he had paid *everyone he owed* and that there should be no others.
Office of Imperial Recovery PartnersA man named Joseph called looking for an ex of mine. I've not been in a relationship with this person since before I got this number. Joseph implied that he had arranged with my ex to call me at this number today. This sounded odd, but since it was mildly possible, I took down the number. (I did press for an exact statement that this was such and he hedged.) However, since it is a debt collector and I have no tolerance for their ******logically manipulative and sometimes abusive tactics, I refused to talk to "Joseph" any more than I had to to get the number. I told him in no uncertain terms to give me the number or I would **** up. He did, but in a schoolyard child-like manner (kind of taunting). I took it down, he tried to get more information out of him, I told him unless he was going to give me more information I wasn't putting up with this ****. I then called my ex to confirm whether this was what I thought it was. My ex told me he was in the process of paying off all old debts on his credit report and that he had paid someone. I had a su****ion that this was a zombie debt collector (out of statute or a portion of a negotiated charge-off). My ex is an ****, but I hate debt-collectors more, so I told him not to call until I verified who this person was. I called back without using the extension, and "Joseph" answered. I asked point blank the company, He sighed and reluctantly said Office of Imperial Recovery Partners. He then said "name of ex?". I said, not unless you think "name of ex" is a woman. I told him I just called to get the name so I could send a certified letter to stop calling me. He said "you could have just asked to have your number taken out" I said, "I know how you guys work. The likelihood you would have actually stopped calling me because I asked was small." I went to **** up and he said "Are you going to ask me to take it out?". I was offended. No. I am not going to "ask" you to take it out. You know I don't want you calling me. You know I intended to send a certified letter. Take it out if you are going to, or don't until you get the letter. I'm not going to say "Pweese mr. debt collector of a debt thats not mine, pweese take my number out after you already know I don't want you calling." I told him as much (without the sarcasm) when he tried to argue me into asking him. Then I ***g up. I don't have the time to waste.Watch out. As far as I know, most zombie debt you cannot be held to paying back, unless you do so****ing ignorant like make a partial payment or give bank details. Do not give these people any information. Period.
