Cold Sales Call
United Distributing called and wanted to confirm an order on a box of fluorescent lights. Person who took the call was led to believe that someone else had ordered the box. The box arrived and they were going to charge $400 for a box of lights that can be purchased for $99 on the internet. They threatened to turn the matter over to a collection agency. We sent the box back with a letter telling them that it looked like a fraud.
Jerry said he had a ne w phone number for company. asked my last name. said he wanted to give me a gift card. i declined the offer. said he would send information in the mail.
Our church has gotten calls from Lion Distributing, United Electric and now United Distributing. The guy on the phone this time, John Bennett, was very cordial. The previous two times, Sean Davis from United Electric, got increasingly hostile and before I ***g up on him the last call he told me to "have a horrible day." John asked for the maintenance person, I told him he doesn't come in the office. He asked for a cell number and I said we don't give it out and then he gave me his phone number and extension 222. He said they sell lighting and Maintenance. We've been scammed before by these people. Inferior products and ridiculous prices with evil salespeople. They will try to get a name to put on an invoice then will bill you $600 for 20 light bulbs. Don't believe the five year warranty!

Pretty much the same as previous comments. After not disclosing our maintenance managers telephone number the lady said "you dumb a**" and ***g up. It looks like they are targeting non profit organizations.
I received the call also. Pretty much the same story only the callers name was Paul Peterson. Wanted to send me a catalog & Wal-Mart gift card. At the end of the call he said "Ok then I'll mark you down for a half of case" to which I replied loudly & clearly "NO don't send me anything". He gave me the "cell phone number 1-877-712-2140" in case I needed it.
Just received a call. Sounds like a young girl, asked for our Facilities Director by name. When I asked if I could take a message she asked for his cell phone number. I told her we do not give out cell phone numbers. She left this number and said to ask for Andy w/ UDI. Sounded su****ious so I Googled the number.
Caller identified himself as our distributor for lightbulbs; asked if we were still using ** lights, and said yes; once the call was close to completion, he asked for my name, stating that the Purchase would be shipped out shortly; we didn't want or need light bulbs, and get ours locally. Be Wary of this company, and **** up when they call.
Had a VM with this girl saying they had the order I was expecting...sounded su****ious...said to ask for rick Davis. They know your name and business name so you at least call back. I did call the 877 number and the girl answered...I was connected to Ricky I guess...from the**** go he sounded too slick...had a new lighting catalog, just moved their operation...etc. I told him they were total dirt bags for doing people that way. He went off w/F you...etc....total dirt ball operation.
our church keeps getting phone calls from 877-712-2140 JD and Cindy from United DISTRIBUTORS acting like we've been best friends and doing business together since grade school. They want to sell & send supposedly "free samples" of bulbs that we don't need. I called several times to get our number on a "do not call list", they are very rude and they still keep calling! Beware of Cindy and Jenne Davis aka JD. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB Better Business Bureau and Attorney General's office! Churches of all places shouldn't be getting harrassing sale phone calls from United Distributors and Cindy and JD!
This guy called a***n using a different name "Chris Truitt" and a different company that he was calling from. My office manager took the phone call and thought it sounded fishy. The same cell phone was used for this call.
These people search for food in the trash to feed their diseased children, make minimum wage, and are unable to get real jobs. They will continue to call and try to trick people, even if you ask them to stop, or ask for a supervisor. I asked them to remove us from their list last month and was told to "have a ****ty 4th of July". The only way to stop them is to be as rude to them as they are to you, and remind them that they are poor and unable to feed their children. :)
Man called from United said he was in the warehouse needed to check on a part we ordered, and he needed to speak to our janitor. Our janitor was not in talked to me a day latter called very friendly fast talking sales man told me would like to send a free catalog and leatherman tool asked if we used any light bulbs said yes we do. I get the letherman and catalog along with a case of lightbulbs and a 379.00 bill ! Called them up told them we didn't want their light bulbs and we were shipping them back man told me on the phone you cant ship them back. We told him we would take legal action. He gave me a shipping address right away! Don't fall for these ****s complete bogus stuff they send out then expect you to pay for it.
Paul Mitchell called and left a message requesting me to call him back on ext.217.Said he wanted to go over some information on a light fixture at the church. Sounded similar to a call our church secretary got about a week ago from someone looking for the maintenance man whom she didn't identify or give any number for. When I made a Google search of the number the name United Distributors came up on the first complaint and seemed familiar. I must have made a search of the number that called the church a week ago and the complaint made by Sari or 15 Jul could have been written by our secretary. How they got my name or phone # is a mystery but we have had no prior contacts.
Got this call this morning, woman looking for the name of our maintenance guy - I talked to our guy here and he naever heard of a place called United Electric or anyone named Rick Davis.
Sean Davis called to speak to a maintenance man. Said he was the electrician and need to return a call about a light fixture. I asked which maintenance man and he said that he didn't leave his name. Gave me the # 877-712-2140 to leave a message for Sean's secretary. He called me from cell phone #443-536-8331. This is a scam call and we get way toomany of them.
Guy named Shawn Davis called looking for our church maintenance person. He said he was an electrician calling about a light fixture. He was overly friendly and called me "honey" every other word. "Shawn" couldn't remember the name of our maintenance guy. He gave the number 877-712-2140 to call back; he called from a cell phone 443-536-8331. There wasn't anything about the call that sounded legit, so I looked up the number.
I originally reported this number.I work for a YMCA. They are obviously going through the list of YMCA's making their calls.Beware of this caller.
Female called asked for our maintenance director by name - said he should call back and ask for Jordan who has the specs we need for the balaste we are trying to order. Sounded su****ious so I googled the number and ended up here!
"United Ditributors" or so****ing like that. First, a female leaves a message to call DJ Davis at 877-412-2140 x 215. I called, and DJ answers. acting like I'm his long lost brother. I tell him "I don't know you, don't call me anymore."I'm certain its a scenario where I pay an outrageous price for 3 light bulbs as a "sample".I was born at night, but not last night.Beware of calls from this company.
