Message left stating they were trying to contact a defendant regarding a case number. When I called back to state they were calling the wrong number (person's name is an unknown), got a voice mail. Left them my # and ordered them to stop calling me or I'd pursue legal action. (In my state it's illegal to robot-call, or call after you've been told not to call. Naturally, I recorded the call and stated I was recording the call.)

Maybe some of those posting here have a debt that they still owe & are trying to weasel out of paying that debt. But in my case, the name they gave on the recording was that of a person that several dozen other debt collectors & anonymous business callers called & asked about several dozen times, but I had this phone number for over 5 years & some one else had it before me (& that person's mother or siblings called me a couple dozen times over a 2 year period until they finally figured out that I was not lying that I didn't know who their son or brother was nor where he was at. He might be dead, mentally ill or just didn't ever want to talk to his family a***n). Either the person they kept asking four is a fake name that some scammers use. Or, she once did have this number that I now have (& she is dead or on the "streets" or now uses another name). Or, she does or doesn't exist, but she originally gave someone the wrong area code or wrong phone number years back and now the only info any of these ****s that keep calling have on her is the very old information & they just are too lazy to investigate and find out where this person is now. People do give out wrong numbers or fake numbers or c****e their phone number once or more times in their lifetime. And sommetimes people die, drop out of society, went to jail, or even c****e their name (especially women who take their husband's last name. But stop calling me!!!! I don't know this person. One reason I think the caller from this 877 number is not legitimate or is a "trickster" is because the first recording says "press one if you do not know the whereabouts of this woman, etc" and the recorded message message left the next day stated that "Press 2 if you do not know this person, etc". So, whether I press 1 or 2, they "got me", if I call back. But I ain't going to answer this 877 number & ain't going to call them back. If they want this woman, ___ ___, then they can do a bit of research or else give up calling my number. Don't be like Chris, he knows they are dishonest and yet he thinks he can talk to them as if they were honest. They will give up after a limitless while. And use a different number next month. Don't get upset- live with it like you live with gnats, flies, or ants.

I would wish so bad that these a**holes would read these and know that we aren't as ****** as they think we may be. This isn't my first rodeo and I am in collections I know the practices of it. Clearly people that posted here know it's a complete SCAM nothing less than then that plain and simple. No one is coming to serve you court papers or arrest your family or you. They will however drive the living **** out of you with the calls to you, your job and family members and beyond claiming they are "references". I am 110% sane person, I would like to look at myself as a caring loving person who has many friends and a very stable life. I work hard for what I have and consider myself an honest hard working person across the board. The fact I continue to get these calls after having several conversations with these losers (well what they probably consider normal conversations-I call it unprofessional behavior). I have reported them to everyone and anyone under the sun that would listen-verbally and in writing and of course no results. I realize they can only do so much they have to work with only a telephone number I give them and several fake names that these losers give me since they c****e it up every time one asks. I also realize they have to follow certain guidelines when it comes to following up with these losers as well. To bad they can't just google LOSERS and there bingo they are-should be that easy since that is exactly what they are bottom feeder losers. I am sure it's clear that I am beyond mad beyond ****ed. I feel hopeless that I have no where to turn as they continue to bug the living sh*t out of me. One place I called to report them gave the advice "don't answer the call block it if you can and don't call them back - it's only feeding into them." It's so hard not to when I know it's a scam and I know they do not have any business with me and they a***n continue to call me my job and family over and over and over a***n. I have blocked them but I do know what blocked numbers call me they already this morning have called me 3 times. I am to the point as I drove into work thinking about this as it seems I do nothing else these days I do feel hopeless, lost and as though I have no rights or no voice at all. That I am prisoner to these people because every time I turn around they are calling someone I know or my job - call me all you want their number is blocked. I know no papers will be served no cop is coming to arrest me, but it ****es me the f*ck off they call my family and job and make it seem as though I am criminal of some sort. Though I have let them all know what's going on it's still so upsetting. These people could be my breaking point it's sad so sad for me to even think one second that being the type of person I feel I am and described earlier in the message that I could physically harm - do serious physical harm to these people though I'd never have the chance to***** no one can locate the losers. I have never felt this way towards another human being as I do towards these people. To them they may think it's funny, oh we got to someone, not to the point I'd ever give them a red cent EVER!!! So, just move on losers get it through your thick ****** money ***gry have to cheat lie and scam hard working honest people head I will NOT pay you. I am not sure what we as Americans that are going through this can do, but keep trying to report them to every agency you can and write your story here get your voice out there somewhere, I am sure it wouldn't make a difference but we can try. Let's just hope I never find out where they are located that's all I have to say.
