Leave a CommentAre you working for this company. I called them back after they called me about 40 times in 3 days when I did pick up they wouldn't say anything so I called provide them with my home phone and without thinking I provide them with my name and date of birth which really wasn't necessary for them to remove my number from the calling list but after I provided them with my name and date of birth she said that she would update her records which means that I am now on record of owing money on a debt that isn't mine. It appears to be an issue with Rogers they have messed up their records some how and are now trying to collect the money from anyone. I was told by the lady on the phone if I wanted them to go away that I had to paid they didn't care if I owed the money they just wanted it paid. So you see they won't go away so you see JOY you don't know what the***** your talking about, go back to your buddy's at CBBC and tell them to stop committing fraud.
You right it could be a recycled number the problem is if you provide them with your name and number than they will add your personal info to that outstanding debt and call you non-stop. I would also contact Equifax and Transcredit Union to have fraud protection added to your account, they would contact you if anyone attemps to use your personal info. I can tell you this much if you don't have their number blocked.
By the way, I'm not a debt collector, but I just spend the past 9 months dealing with my debt. Now it's paid and I'm pretty much worry free (minus student loans, of course lol)
I meant *don't be so hasty to avoid speaking with them*
It's the Credit Bureau of Ca***a collections. or CBBC. Don't be so hasty with speaking to them. If you do not owe anything, tell them and if they are rude tell them that you will report them to the better business bureau if they don't stop harassing you (no company wants a bad name on the BBB)...then **** up. If you DO owe money, do not admit to it until they send you whatever information they have. Tell them "well I'm going to need to see this in writing please" and while you're waiting, do your research and find out how to deal with this company and paying your bill...stop avoiding your debt; it's yours.
Annoying phone calls every second day! Pay as you go accounts runs out very quickly for this ****** messages and calls. Very annoying.
Received a call from this number. Have seen other derogatory comments. Seems to be HSBC, but perhaps a collection agency acting on their behalf. Once a***n, we don't even have to talk to these people.
I am so annoyed by this type of ****. If you have iphone try iblacklist. Awesome program.
I called back and talked to a rep, he told me the cause of the cals is a recycled number. The person who used to have tmy # has bad credit. The company is collections agency for credit bureau. I told my # and the name they asked for and he ensured me my # is no longer****ociated with the persons name. We will see!
I keep getting these calls to my work phone. I am beyond frustrated. I pressed 1 to speak with them last week and was told that my number was removed from their database. When I got another call today, I a***n pressed 1 to connect and told them I'd already asked to be removed and the woman on the other end was extremely rude and when I asked what company is calling me, she said "Credit Bureau of Ca***a" and ***g up on me. I am going to look into having this number blocked by the phone company. They waste my time and fill up my voicemail and obviously don't have the courtesy to ACTUALLY remove my number or even to take more than 30 seconds to try to resolve this issue. I would like to file a formal complaint if I can figure out how. But these arrogant, cowardly corporations hiding behind these elusive 1-877 numbers... grrr.
I checked my received call history now. I remeber these people (reg; 1-877-817-8766). I spoke to them and asked them to remove my phone number from their list, becuase I have to pay for incoming calls. They stopped calling then and seems like s****ed back to call me.
I received a call from the same number at 10:44am 3/29/2010. Company name is unknown.
I get automated calls from 1-877-817-8766 often and the recording says it's for some Billy guy. Well, that guy doesn't live here, and from what I know of the history of our house, I'm not sure if he ever even did, so eventually I tried to get them to stop by pressing 1 and talking with someone. She knew who the call was for before I told her and said they'd remove my number from their data base. And yet I still get the calls! So now I'm going through my phone company to block that number. (these automated systems send a clear message that the company considers their time more valuable than mine -- very unprofessional, w***ver they are)
Calls and leaves messages for a steven so****ing or other. I get atleast one a day.
