Called and treatened criminal action. He knew all of my info. But later found out frommy bank to not worry. I was told not to give any of my info to this guy. I am calling the FBI in my area. Still wondering how he got all of my personal info????? If he calls you, call the FBI!!!!

THIS IS A SCAM...PEOPLE BEWARE, DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!! I HAVE CONTACTED THE PROPER AUTHORITIES AND IT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION!! I KNOW HE HAS YOUR INFO, BUT DO NOT TELL HIM ANYTHING ELSE...**** UP AND IGNORE HIS CALLS!! HE IS TRYING TO EXTORT MONEY!!

Left a message at my office to contact him re: a legal case trial

I got the same call today...Kevin Smith Officer with Financial Crime Investigations...My message was that I was a reference given on a report and need to call back. It is of urgent nature....yah right! Expect my call back. If they call, I will be prepared since my family is in law enforcement!

These people left me a message at work saying they were from the US Investigations Bureau...clearly not based on the accent.I promtly called back and asked them to confirm they were a US government agency, which he did.  Now they have violated federal law.  I informed him of this fact and he abruptly ended the call.Not one to be pushed around (I was now having fun) I called back and tried a***n to get them to say they were with the US Government and that I was recording the call (I was) but they refused to admit it.  I gave them none of my information.  They were clearly reeling and eventually ***g up on me after threatining that I was in "major legal trouble."I have filed a complaint with the FTC and I recommend that all of you do the sa*****ese people are a complete joke.

I received a message from this company at my place of work and on my home phone. He was very rude. His name was Mark Jones. He also stated only God could help me.

And how did the police handle the situation

I have been receiving these calls from a guy named Shawn Williams that worked with some lawyers office in Florida telling me that I have a case a***nst me for $300 from some payday loan company.  I never even applied for a payday loan.  Immediately report these calls to your police department and let them handle it.  They are trying to obtain your personal information to scam money out of you.

THIS GUY CALLED MY WORK AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY PHONE. HE ADVISED ME TO CONTACT HIM (ROBERT RICHMAN)I THINK-OR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND NAME WILL BE DOWNLOADED IN THE LEGAL FILE FOR FURTHER LEGAL ACTION. WHO IS THIS GUY??

Received a voice mail from someone stating they're from a crime prevention bureau and they have a case a***nst me. This happens about once every few months; differnt numbers, though...

just got a message from these criminals, received one about a year ago wanting money from me and saying I needed to turn myself in or pay them! ****s! Had the number traced and they were either calling from india or africa! don't give them any info, just tell them they are scammers and they'll **** up on you! I believe they got my info off of a job seeking website or they can pay for your info for like $30 or less! I got the police involved but they couldn't do much! Never agree to send anything or let them kno the info they have is correct!

Call and threatened me with arrest if not paid a payday which i didn't do.Had to have money of $580 plus extra costs by 5pm my time.Called consumer protection agency.they said was a scam.How do I keep them from calling.Said his namewas Robert Leachman or so****ing hard to understand.How to stop these calls

I had the same thing happen.  "Steve Jones" calls me all the time.  He states that he is a police officer and that I am going to get arrested if I do not make a $700 payment.  But, they could take two payments of $350.  They called an uncle of mine in Colorado Springs, CO (I live in Iowa) and they also called my sister. They would have no way of retrieving their information unless they googled me and called people with the same last name.  He always ends the call with "God help you."

Got a call from him, too.  He also goes by the name Frank James.  He also called one of my references and threatened her with an arrest, too, and she is not a person that is in vbery well health.  This is very disgracefull.  I know times are tough, but this this rediculas.  These guys should be put in jail.....

Same here... Got a call from him threatening me on my voicemail.  He's called me like 4 times already.  Kinda freaking me out.  I am going to call the cops on him, but first maybe call him back.

Same deal here. Officer Frank Jones from a U.S. crime prevention unit. Has a case a***nst a member of my family which I am referenced on for which I will be arrested if I dont call him and cooperate. This # is unpublished from Gilmer, TX. He is CLEARLY a fraud. DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY ANY INFO!!!!!

Same here as well, he got very upset when I told him I did not believe what he was saying and that I was going to call the cops and report him for fraud. He was yelling and screamimg at me speaking in a foreign language, then he ***g up. The world is full of crazy people

Got a call from a man claiming to be Frank Jones & he was a police officer. He left a message saying god help me also & that I had a case a***nst me for so****ing it was hard to understand him. He didn't know my last name either, but was very threatening.

Frank Jones called, said that I was going to be arrested for defrauding the government and if i didnt reply, god help me. They also called my mother, ***her and my gran and threatened them also. this is disgraceful. some ***** them please

Called me to tell me that they had a case a***nst me and that if I did not reply then they were not sure what would happen next and only God could help me now. These men Go by the last name James and the first name of the man who called me was Frank. My mother tried calling them and they returned her call at 5am threatening her and wouldn't give her any information on who they were. She gave me the advice to call the police so that there was a report filed just in case they tried to use any information they might have on me for illegal purposes. I urge everyone else who gets a call like this to do the same.

I had the same call from Frank Jones and he was portraying himself as an officer.  When i asked him point blank if he was an officer he said no.  He left two threatening phone calls on my phone saying that he didn't know what would happen to me if I didn't return his call and that only God could help me.  He also said he worked with the sheriff's department.  I called the sheriff department from the county****ociated with his phone number and they were going to call them for me.

I just had the gentlemen call me saying his name was Frank Jones and he was Indian. He used the whole legal thing about arresting me and had the never to say God Bless!!!! Do not call and block the number.

He also called my job twice while I was  out, telling my coworker that it was a matter concerning unathorized use of my ss#.  He was very rude to her when she told him I wasn't there, so she told him that it was my place of employment and not to call a***n.

Same deal, guy called me and said he was from a crime prevention agency. asked for my last name and said he has a case-file a***nst me. I said let me get this straight...you have a case a***nst me and you don't know my last name? Are you out of your mind? then I ***g up. He sounded like a 15 yr old russian kid who could barely speak english. I feel bad for all the dumb***** who give their information out to these people.

My friend called me frantic saying they were going to arrest her and charge her with money laundering because of being used as a reference for a so called internet loan, they told me I would be arrested too they were from the international crime bureau said he was officer Steve Williams, for a loan that i got over the internet and didn't pay.

Said they they are from a crime free prevention agency, that I'm being charged with 4 felony's and had ALL MY PERSONAL information, including ss#. They also had very american names, and were very NOT american. Called my family members and threatened them also.
