Leave a CommentI received a call from 904-292-3814 this morning. My caller ID showed the call was from "Chase." I am in the process of applying for a loan modification with Chase. The gentleman was very polite and said he was calling from the Chase modification department. Of course he s****ed to ask for the usual info they ask for in order to verify they are talking to the mortgage holder etc. I am very cautious as to whom I give my information to and since I had not spoken to anyone from this number before, I told the guy that I didn't feel comfortable giving my information to him, because of the fact I didn't recognize the number he was calling from. I told him I would call the regular number I'd been using during this process and inquire what was needed by Chase. He was totally polite and said okay, that would be fine and that was that. I then called the 866 number I normally call and spoke with another gentleman and he was able to verify that the first call was legitimate and he explained to me that they have 2 files on me and that sometimes, when one department calls for additional do***ents, they do so without checking both my files and so he thought that is what happened in my case. The first gentleman was not aware that I had already sent in the most recent do***ents requested. So, I know they are actively working on my application and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get some good news in a few weeks.
A person identifying herself as "Ashley Smith" allegedly working with Chase Bank called my husband this morning at his work number under the guise of helping with our re-financing.
