Leave a CommentReceived a phone call on 18 September, 2015 from 904-638-5739 claiming that the caller was an IRS investigator. Caller stated that there were 2 IRS notices sent to our house which were ignored. I informed the caller that there were no notices received, caller had home address, legal names and other private information. When I questioned that IRS does not make calls to individuals, caller stated that the call was a 3rd notification since the two written were unanswered. I repeated a***n that there were no notifications received and requested that a 3rd be sent certified. Then I asked to speak to his manager since I could not understand the caller due to his accent. Call was terminated. Later went on the IRS web site and tried to track down information which I could not obtain without a Notice ID. At 2:50 PM called 904-638-5739 and reached an individual who answered the phone as IRS Investigations. Man very apologetic that he could not help me transferred me to the Investigator who identified himself as Williams. Investigator proceeded with telling me about notices that were ignored. I requested specifics and a Notice Number which he would not provide stating that Notice Number can’t be provided since a warrant for my arrest is pending. A***n, I reiterated that I did not receive any notices and asked to have one sent certified, to which I was informed that the others sent previously were sent certified and that a signature was on file. My su****ion of a fraud was now confirmed as there is no way that a certified letter from the IRS was received. The so called investigator continued with threats of arrest, violation of IRS and DHS law, stated 3 counts of violation, but could not specify details of his audit or which year was under audit. He stated that the conversation was being recorded as evidence and now the background noise of chatter which made the caller believe the room was full of agents speaking to others was silenced. The so called investigator under the threat of recording wanted to know who prepared the taxes, how they were prepared, and other at which time I got tired of the game and stated that I'll turn this over to my tax attorney. Investigator closed the call by saying that a warrant will be issued and that I will be arrested within 3 days. I almost wanted to continue to see when the issue of how much I owe would come up and how best to pay the IRS but decided to table the conversation and have these individuals who fraudulently represent the Government reported. These guys are good and need to be stopped.
