I have been receiving multiple texts from this number. It says it is from https://ca.dmv-govda.icu/portal. Nothing has shown up from multiple online searches. The only information I have found is that the area code is from Alaska, and other people have received similar messages. No one knows why; everyone thinks it is a scam. From comments I have read on several sites, the most common one is that these all claim to be from government agencies - in my case, the DMV, although the website uses the California (ca) abbreviation. It says that one of the consequences will be being reported to tolls and being charged a 35% fee. Another consequence will be having my credit score affected. The other tidbit is that today is June 10, 2025. I received the text this morning and am supposed to take care of this tomorrow by texting Y. That is a standard 'red flag' for potential scam. IF YOU GET A SIMILAR TEXT, DO NOT RESPOND! Instead, write comments and complaints wherever you can.
