Leave a CommentTo add to my comment above-L3 communications owns the # but they are just a service provider (like Verizon, Embarq, AT&T, etc.)I did a search on reverse look up detective site and found that L3 is the owner of all #s that are 908-982-**** (any 4 digits after would be an L3 #)I did find that 908-982-1826 isPhone Type: LandlineLocation: Columbia, NJfor further information I had to pay a fee, and it's not worth it yet because I have only received 2 calls from that # so far.If anypne knows anything else PLEASE post.Thanks.
I received the same call- an automated message sayind "We are tying to reach ...." so I stayed on the phone an listened to what it was (I thought it was a survey at first)- then the "voice" wanted personal innformation. I am going to look further into this, as I have had my iden***y stolen once already- I don't think I can handle it a***n.This is scary- I know better than to give any info over the phone, but some people are naive and do. If they are going to rob people they should grow some ***** and do it face to face- instead of hiding behind a computerized voice. One thing you should never do if anyone calls that is a telemarketer/salesperson/courtesey caller is say "yes" to anything over the phone. If they are recording the call and ask you if you are having a good day, and you respond "yes" they can edit the recording and insert your "yes" after any question. SO then they have a recorsing of you saying yes to charging credit cards or other acoounts you may have that they have in their files (and it is very easy for someone to get all of this information). Good luck to everyone and don't let these vermin walk all over you!!!!
this number calls, and leaves no message, I knew it was a scam!
This telephone number seems to trace back to L3 Communications - a voip provider. An automated dialer called and a recording said they were looking for me. They said they were not a telemarketer and not a sales person. The computerized system s****ed asking me to punch in personal info (Social Security Number) which is equivelant to illegal phishing for personal information. At no time did the company identify themselves. The phone number they called is a private cell# that is not published anywhere - so how they got it to call I have no idea. I called the number back and woman answered "Client Services". I asked her for the full name of the company and to identify herself. I explained they called my cell phone and I wanted to know exactly why. The woman asked my name, address, employer information, social secuirty number, and bank account information. Needless to say, I justr kept asking her to identify herself and her company otherwise I was reporting the incident to authorities. The woman ***g up.I did report the incident to L3 Communications as a violation a***nst their customer terms of service and demanded customer information to be forwarded to the authorities. I have a little bit of pull, because as a victim of iden***y theft, I have iden***y theft recovery specialists investigating all of this weird stuff on my behalf. To benefit you guys, don't respond to their questions. So****ing is really fishy there.
