These people keep calling my 80 year old mother. So far we are not ansewering as i know the person they keep asking for on the ma****e has no debt for them to collect. We are tired of them. How can it be stopped?

This number came up on my caller ID as being from Kentwood Law Group. When I answered the call, the man on the other end of the phone wanted me to tape a note to my neighbors' door asking them to call this number. I think it is appalling that a creditor would stoop to the level of harrassing neighbors of clients. I realize that this is prob perfectly legal, but that still doesn't make it right! If people can't afford to pay, then they can't afford to pay, and embarrassing them by harrassing their neighbors isn't going to make a difference. Needless to say, my neighbor will NEVER know I received this phone call about them!

I got a call like this too.  They called my parent's home as well.  When I finally spoke to whomever it was, one minute, the guy was nice - the next, he was rude for no reason.  I told them I wanted to see everything in writing.  This rude guy said I needed to get to a fax ma****e immediately if this matter was of importance to me because he was not gonna wait 5 days for the information to get to me via mail.  I said, "OH WELL," - he then said he'd have to do what was "necessary" because I didn't have an EMAIL address.  At NO point in time did he ask for an email address...so I said - ummm, I have an email address - email me the info.  I verified my email address with him several times and he abruptly ***g up on me.  This was two days ago...still no email.

Was called today by a Mr. Salcedo from the Law office of Sidney ****ell in Montclair, CA, they wanted me to go and locate a neighbor for them!  Like I dont have anything else to do with my time!  Are they crazy!  I still dont know how they obtained my number if it is to be private!  I want so****ing done a***nst them!  What ever they are doing sounds illegal.

They can contact your parents, cousins, aunts, uncles and neighbors in an attempt to locate you.  My advice is to contact them, verify you are the debtor they are looking for, verify your mailing address and inform them that they now have 5 days to send you details of the account (dunning letter).  End the call.  Do not allow them to engage in any more conversation.

Report them to the DA in your state.  Maybe what they are doing is illegal.

This guy called me named Jeremy Michaels says he is a manager and as we talked about debt,  he s****ed being rude for no reason.  So I told him to have a nice day and send me the paperwork to the new mailing address.

This company not only called my parents in another state that I have not live with for over 20+ years, they also called a cousin with a different last name in a different state and a ex-wife of my brother in law in another different state. This has got to be a***nst the law??? And these are only the people I've heard from. Who knows how many other people with the same last name or my maiden name they are calling and harrassing. They claim that I've used the person they are calling as a reference - which is totally a lie. I've never used my ex-sister in law as a reference for anything!!!

have you ever heard of ANYBODY going to jail because of a debt collection? EXACTLY. The amount owed would have to be far more than any average consumer would be capable of even spending in a decade. It's just a game of ********ing. thats how it works in america. bu***hit your way to the top. know the game, win the game. hah!

This company called my parents repeatedly,harrassing my parents that they knew I was a resident at their home and demanded the time I would be home. I did not live with my parents nor have i for for 15 years.  They claimed they were an attorney's office. Rude and unacceptable strong arm tactics.

Im in california...they had a sheriff come buy my house..for a debtor exam...i didnt answer my phone and my door! ...what should I do???I never had a judgment ??? can someone help!!!!

I echo Cliff's message of October 12.  This guy has been harassing me.  He wants information about someone else.  It should stop.
