Man says he's from the police dept. and they are looking for donations...I told him no thank you...about two years ago...calls at least 2 to 3 times per week

The WFOP is A legitmate Fund Raiser For the WPD Shop with A Cop Program. They have been doing this for 14 yrs in the county. I have personally seen them at WalMart with the Kids.James ***dley is A Nice Guy and does work for The WFOP. The 910 763 1178 is the # to WFOP Cape Fear Lodge # 58. Seems like there are two Mr. James ***dley.....the latest one is calling for the Wilmington Police "Shop with a Cop" program. Phone number 763-1178, 763-9574. Says he is with the FOP Lodge... Very nice guy, not like the "other" James ***dley who is nasty if you question him or say no. But, calls to the Wilmington Police Recreation****o. and New Hanover County have failed to confirm the legitimacy of any of this. DON'T GIVE THEM A PENNY!

This guy called me today and said he was with some law enforcement agency of NHC (I forget which he said).  He was collecting money to send flowers to nursing homes but he first mentioned the drugs programs pre school kids and then it was like he c****ed his mind.  I asked him specifically if he worked for New Hanover County and he said yes. Often on this type of call, they will say no they're a fund raiser and then I **** up.  But this guy said yes.  So I listened.The pitch was I should leave a check for whatever amount I wanted at my front door and they would come pick it up.  I said it sounded good and I would help them out and he should just mail me the information.  When he said that made no sense since they were local and clearly it was easier for them to just stop by -- I ***g up.This is a scam.  Someone should report it.

Just got off the phone with him.  First he asked for someone like it's a wrong number.  Then he asks if it's the [correct family name] residence.  I told him no.  Then he asked for me by name but mispronounced my first name letting me know the person didn't know me.  I ***g up.

We have been getting calls to 910 763-9574 all summer wit the NHC caller ID. Never answered it. Finally picked up the phone the other day and this guy at the end (deep voice) says he has the wrong number and ***g up. When he called a***n a few days later, I picked up the phone and asked him to please stop calling and he got very belligerent. Then called back twice, in quick succession from a "private" number. I just got off the phone with the sherrifs office to report this and they supposedly are going to investigate, but frankly, I don't really think they are going to go after one of their own. I may call Ben David's office next (the DA) since this guy is apparently annoying a lot of people. Plus who knows if this guy is just a harmless **** who gets his jollys annoying people, or if he is a ******path.

Oh my goodness!!! I have had such a time with this guy for the past two + years!!!! Cannot get him to stop calling...I've ***g up on him, I've tried to reason with him, I've asked him very politely and then NOT so politely to please stop calling our number...nothing works.HIs name is James ***dley and yes, he is with the sheriff or the Fraternal Order of Police or SO****ING like that. He will call and the caller ID says "NHC 910 763 9574" - if we don't pickup then, the phone will ring a***n in 5-6 minutes from "private" - last time we went through this he would even call from his personal cell phone! (That is how I know his name)My husband answered once b/c we thought it was one of our neighbors...he told the guy he was not available and the guy said, "Sure sounds like (my husband's name), you sure it's not you?" UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! If anyone has any advice about this...ugh!!!!! This situation seriously qualifies as Telephone Harassment by all accounts that I have researched.

Identified himself with NHC Sheriff's Dept. and collecting money for school projects involving drugs and crime. I said I do not contribute money over the phone.  He knew my last name and street address. If this is a scam, it's a scary situation.

Recd 4 calls today - asking for Mr.... not available, ***g up on myself and other family member. Scam!! Verified with PD. Give no info...

Received a call asking for my husband.  Asked what it was for and he just said he had to ask him a quick question.  I told him I wouldn't get him unless I knew the nature of the call.  The guy ***g up on me.  When I called back and asked for a Supervisor he said he was.
