Keep your ears ***led and try to answer it. If you inform them that this is a pay as you go cell phone, the can no longer (legally) call you. It is probably collections trying to call the number you have just received, looking for the previous owner of the number. Legally, debt collectors cannot cost you cell phone charges, whether you owe a bill or not. If they continue, you may have to file  a complaint or sue in civil court. Anyone getting calls from this number should refer to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. It will help you learn your rights.

THis number calls several times a day. We don't even have a Lowe's credit card! It is a different nunber every threee to four days, but it is the same company.

This is an telephone call center in India. DO NOT discuss any affairs with them. They are calling on behalf of Lowe's (GE Money Bank), who pays them less than $3/hr to use numerous telephone numbers so they can disguise their source (Lowe's/GE). It is a really bad idea to give any personal or credit card information to anyone calling from India.Consistently numerous phone calls per day (8 - 12)...harassment?  Possibly so!  They are allowed to make as many calls per day as they want, 7 days a week, between the hours of 8:00 am - 9:00 pm YOUR local time; however if they speak to you, they are NOT allowed to call a***n in that business day.Answer the phone and do not give any information other than your name and address.  You do not have to give any acknowledgment of owing a debt, why you can't pay it, if your cir***stances have c****ed or ANYTHING.  Just like the old movies, NAME AND ADDRESS CONFIRMATION ONLY!  If they keep talking, **** UP.  If they call back, do***ent the time(s) and call Lowe's/GE and tell them they are in violation of the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act and you will seek legal damages if they continue to call.  If they violate a***n...SUE THEM:  Small Claims/Civil Court for damages.  Keep evidence of whom you spoke with and the dates and times they call, this evidence will speak for itself in a courtroom.KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND READ THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT.  When you mention the FDCPA to them you will be taken more seriously and treated better (for the most part.)  Good luck and God Bless the Working Poor!

calls all day long leaves no message need to leave message

This person calls me one to two times a day - they do not leave a message. What do they expect when they call during working hours and a person can not leave the people (kids) they are working with to answer an unknown phone call.One person commented that it is a collection group - impossible for me - I have no debts! I only have one card and it is through my bank and it is paid off monthly.PLEASE stop calling or at least leave a message so I can respond.

It is a Kansas credit collection agency.  Call is verifying your phone number on your credit application is still valid.
