Leave a CommentI live in Australia and have received 2 calls about my computer having a virus. The first was a man and I asked him where he got my number and he said a marketing company gave it to him. The next time was a woman, both with Indian accents incidentally, who gave me the same story.I just ***g up on them. I haven't received any dodgy emails. I have very good internet security though and intend to keep it that way!!
I recieved a call from 914-579-8157, at 2:53 PM EST on 10/01 Pleasntville, New York. I answered. He called me by name. A gentleman by the name of Edward said my home computer was infected with viruses. I said I don't think so. He said Oh yes it is. I have McAfee virus protection. I ***g up.
Received a call from them this morning...when I picked up and said*****o a couple of time...heard a couple of clicks and seems like the phone was transferred to someone. That person picked up...had an Indian accent...said so****ing about my e-mail sending out messages because it was infected...then transferred me to someone else (who also had an Indian accent, go figure). The guy told me that Microsoft gave them my contact information because there was a virus on my computer. The guy asked me to open up Internet Explorer to type in an address: www.pcsecurities.com and asked if I saw the flashing 866 number on top of the webpage. Yes? Then you got the correct website. Then please scroll down to the bottom of the page and download the Team Viewer so he can give my laptop a free diagnostic. Got really annoyed at him and s****ed asking questions and he kept giving me bu***hit about my laptop being infected and needs to download so****ing so he can take a look. When he finally realized that I wasn't biting then got me off the phone so fast so he can move on to the next victim.
I got this call two times today. Error, picked it up thinking it was from a family member. NEVER ANSWER CALLS FROM NUMBERS YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE. IF IT'S LEGIT, THEY WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE. People, we have to take care of ourselves. Thanks.
My wife answered the phone as I was out for a few minutes. Upon answering, the phone "rang" as if my wife made an outgoing call. A man with an Indian accent asked to talk to me and appeared to have my Yahoo email address. She kept asking who it was, and he wouldn't say, just kept insisting that he talk to me. He finally said that my computer had a virus and mumbled so****ing else in a foreign language when she told him that she was my wife and he could talk to her.
I got the same phone call, could not understand her, I think she wanted to know if my e mail address was @score.com or somthing like that Not sure what she said.
Same story confirm email address and a sales pitch. I don't really know what she said she didn't speak english very we4ll
I got a call from it this afternoon but was sleeping i work night shift sometimes, tried to call it back but it was busy now i know not to answer it at all. Thanks guys.
thick accent barely understand believe some PC security so****ing to do about my email address and ***g up. tried to call back and get a busy signal. might check out snopes to see if there is so****ing there.
A man trying to speak english, acts as if he is trying to sell you so****ing, that comes on your computer with a warning from your ISP (internet service provider) that says the email is quarntined, and cautions that if you dare open it, that it will send a virus all through out your computer. The man is asking did you get email? Yes, no? So you say yes and no, and then **** up. He makes you mad. I think he wants you to open the email, get the virus and only HE, can save your computer. A SCAM.So always delete messages with attachments from strangers and **** up on this number.
I first got an email that my internet carrier said was a virus quarntined message, and advised not to open, as it would send a virus to my computer. So I deleted the email which said it contained an e-fax with two attachments. A few hours later I get a call from this number 914-579-8157, which was a man, who was trying so desparately hard to speak english, he repeated my email address, si, yes, ok, you go to your computer, yes? You find message, yes. So I presumed he meant the virus email, I said yes, and no, and ***g up. This kind of call leaves you the ****ie jeebies and makes you mad. Thenerve of some scammers, I hope he leaves the US soon!!!!!
I got the same call and they****ured me that Hotamil sent them my number and I had received a virus called Security Tools Warning which I actually had removed from Norton the day before. Fun thing is they use India persons to call and we can't understand a word. I asked for their company name and it was given as PC Company Security and gave this 866-848-7571 number to call them toll free. IT IS A SCAM. If anything they are probably the ones who sent me the virus in the first place my teenager opened by mistake. Oh well, just **** up or tell them the call is being recorded and the police are investigating the calls. Good luck, I got Verizon to block the number.
all i hear is music,so annoying
I keep getting a call from this number and its driving me nuts. Who the***** are they and why do they call at the worst hours?
they said my email address was sending out mail...they had been contacted by verison to help me.bull ****!!!! scam...
Got a call from this number today saying that I had been reported by my ISP as having a virus on my computer. I basically told the "nice gentleman" from India who was of course based out of TX and calling form New York......that I had all the virus protection that I needed and I was pretty sure that my ISP did not need an outside company to contact me regarding that. I am thinking that there is some poor guy in NY somewhere with the phone number they are showing wondering why everyone that calls him is no angry. LOL I am sure that this number is just plugged in by the scammers software as it seems that no one is getting any "real results" when trying to contact them. Thankful that we have caller ID these days.
They keep calling my mother saying they're a Medicare subsidary and need to update her information. They ask for her SS# and when she refuses, they tell her they need her bank acct information. When she refused to do that, they said "that's ok, we just need the numbers across the bottom of your check!" Imagine that nerve!!!
I am getting calls as early as 6 am - it isn't possible to return their call - it just goes to a computer - help stop them, please!
solicitation. some company calling on behalf of Dish Network.
Called my cell phone. I try to call it back and it tells me the Verizon customer I have dialed is unavailable at this time or it gives me a busy signal
I get at least 1-4 calls a day from these people, I live in ca***a and have no clue what this is all about. There is ***ody ever on the line, just a click and they **** up....I hate these kind of calls...
