He messages me about a house being available for rent, then he says he’s a contractor in New York and wants to move forward with the application process immediately. He provided me a selfie and a picture of an ID but it was definitely a scam.

Well it was a messenger message stating this :*****o you requested about my property for rent on Facebook (7546 Cross Gate Ln, Alexandria, VA 22315) 2 BEDROOM 2 BATHROOM $500 MONTHLY + (UTILITIES INCLUDED) 1,500 sqft

That I had won a prize from Amazon

Tho number sent me text messages claiming to be the owner of a house @ 6829 college ave. Sent me info & tried to rent the house to me. Asked for $500 rent, plus $500 deposit. Said he was a veteran living in New York, & wasn't able to allow me to see the inside. I now know who the real owner is, and the names do not match! I plan to personally let the owner know this person is A***N trying to rent their property! To all: DO NOT attempt to rent 6829 college ave! It is not for rent!

So far I can not seem to get any Verification who exactly this person is. States they own a house & is looking for a decent tenant to rent his property. All communication has been through text messages. Can ANYONE tell me if they have had a similar experience like this? I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Posed as the owner of a house that I own in order to collect a deposit for renting it. This house was already rented out. This is a dangerous scammer
