Received text message from this number saying "Thx 4 visiting our site: Call 1-877-706-6424 to claim Your $20 Wal-Mart Card plus $50 Gas Card, Gift Code: RRV200. Reply STOP to DNC." it sounds like a scam. Replied stop

Received a message from this number at 11:00 AM August 18th. "[My last name] Thanks for visiting our site. Claim your $200 Wal-mart gift card. Call 800-417-9847 Now. Reply STOP to Stop msgs."

I have had the same luck with texting back STOP as you have with replying to get unwanted e-mails stopped.  They then know they have a "live" contact and will sell it to others.

I got one too. It said  to reply with STOP and then they would stop.   I think I will call them back a***nand record them saying that I have a gift,  Then I will tell them that If they don't actually have any gift and that if I have not recieved any gift vouchers then I will report them to the Attorney general.  I don't think they will send any gift cards but I would send a copy of the recording and the SMS message data to the consumer fraud division of my state and New York State, which is the originating area code of this garbage.

Receiving unwanted text messages from****-349-2453 explained to me that I need to visit their website to receive my gift card. Is there any way to stop these text messages?! I am receiving at least 3 text messages a day!
