Offering me carpet cleaning services. When I held on to speak to someone the line went dead. I thought I'd registered my cell phone with the Do Not Call registry and if I did I will report this company.

I got a call on my mobile telephone from this number yes****ay morning.  I didn't immediately recognize the number, but I answered it anyway.  A recorded message came on trying to offer me carpet cleaning services.  I wish that I had thought to take down information on how to contact the company in question -- because if what I read on Snopes.com is true, these people are BREAKING THE LAW.  According to Snopes.com, it's actually *illegal* -- yes, ILLEGAL -- for telemarketers to use auto-dialers (which most reportedly do) to call mobile telephone numbers.  Since there was only a recorded message when I picked up the call, it seems like a fairly safe guess that this company is using an auto-dialer...either because they don't know that this is illegal, or because  they quite simply don't give a toss.My suggestion is that if you happen to see this number appear on your mobile a***n, answer the call and take careful note of any contact information included in the message about this company.  Once you've done that, you can turn around and report them.
