This is the Oklahoma Law Enforcement/State troopers  raising funds.  They called me to donate money.  They said I had donated before and wanted to know if I would like to make a small donation a***n.  I have donated to them years ago.  But under a different number not this one.

I just got the call from this number (918) 289-2970. They man who was calling identified himself as being with the Oklahoma****ociation for the Chief. He stated he was calling to speak to all business owners, asking for charitable donations as follows: Captains Pledge $500.00, Lieutenants Pledge $300.00, Sargents Pledge $150.00. He then asked which one I was able to help them with.  When I explained that I was a ***nd new business just s****ing off, he apologized and said that he did not know he was calling a new business. He stated that if I could help them out with even a $50.00 donation (he would treat it as a million buck and that he would have my number removed form their call list.  So I played along with him and asked him how I could make my contribution, he stated that they liked to secure payment over the phone by either visa and/or master card. However, I could also send in my payment. He stated that they could send me out a package with all the necessary information for securing payment along with some badges to place at my place of business. He then passed me on to whom he said was his supervisor. This individual identified himself as Josh Bates, he asked were he could sent the information package, took the information that I gave him, he thanked me and informed me that he would have my number removed form their call list. Sounds to me like these guys are polishing/refining their scam with each call they make.

These calls have been happening quite frequently.  ATT's privacy manager does not interrupt them and the "Do Not Call" registry doesn't either.
