I've been getting calls from 925-364-6217 for the past 2 weeks. They never left a message, and I don't recognize the number. I called 925-364-6217 and they say they are Time Warner. They even knew from my caller ID what level of TW service I have and how much I'm paying monthly. They wanted to tell me about a promotional package. I was highly concerned and not convinced this was Time Warner, even thought it might be an identity theft issue.
I called TW's regular customer service number and explained what's going on. At first the TW rep said there are no notes in my account showing they called me and also that there was no reason he could see in my account that they need to call me as my account was in good standing. He then put me on hold to call 925-364-6217 himself.
After a couple of minutes he came back and told me this is a legit third-party marketing company working for Time Warner to promote their special offers. He assured me this is legit (he asked them a series of questions and verified several things) but he also told me he can put me on TW's "do not call list" to not get promotional calls from their marketers.
Bottom line: this is an annoying marketing call, but it is legit, and it is on behalf of Time Warner.
