This number texted me, opening with ‘ How was your day?’ I don’t know anyone remotely close to NY, so I didn’t respond. I know that questions are a way for them to open the door to further conversation, and that reply at all leads to more spam.

Asked me if I was available, this is a common scam

Texted asking if I was available and saying it was the president of the company I work for.

Am I available to get gift cards

I just s****ed a new job, he asked if I was available. I checked his name in Microsoft Teams, legit name, although he is the NASA administrator, then he said he was busy and needed me to get him some Apple cards from Target.

This person texted me pretending to be the CEO of my company.
