I posted a piece of furniture for sale on Craigslist. Got a response from (931)297-8868 asking if still available. They asked if they could verify that I’m a real person (…didn’t really think anything of it since there are businesses who do this…). A text came through with a six-digit code and I confirmed that number by typing it in our text conversation. The person then said they couldn’t verify my cell number; asked for a different number (e.g., a friend or family member!). At that point I was a bit ****ed because I don’t give out anyone else’s ANYTHING without implicit permission from that person. Didn’t get s response after I said that I couldn’t give a different number. Then I checked my email and noticed an alert from my bank! I haven’t charged a dime for anything at AT&T, so now waiting on phone to speak to someone to dispute that charge! smh
