Received a call from this number saying I had won a contest; they then attempted to get contact information and other personal details out of me that should never have been necessary if the contest were real.

Also the 1 ring callers.They call let it ring once and hang up. Hoping that your curiosity will get the better of you and you will call the number back. Then once you've called that number your charged $9.99 for making the call and an absurd amount for every minute you spend on the line thereafter. Another new Spammers way to rip us off.

Yes they are a phishing spammer. I read a published article last eve, as how these spammers are now able to connect with our smartphones as long as were on the line and collect/pull as much data as they can from your phone about you. IE: If you've just. Visited your banking website or paid a bill using your credit card or bought something online. They can see and pull that info from your phone. I will try to get you the URL to the article I read which can explain in detail and post that. Becareful with what calls your answering.

This is a joke..they call you and tell you that you've been entered in a drawing to win $1 million and then they ask for allll kinds of personal info... Do NOT answer for them..its a big SCAM...they'll also start asking you about credit cards you may have.
