It's not a scam; it's Broward County jail with an inmate collect call.  You will only be charged if you accept the call.  (if your answering ma****e picks up, you will not be charged).

This call is a scam they are calling you to tell you owe money and they are going to disconnect the cell phone.  The phone number is "not in service". Do not get in the trap do not answer!!!!! let them leave the message.

Received 8 consecutive calls from this number this evening within a 1/2 hour.  The only thing that came across clear was that it was a collect call from the Broward County Jail ... the "a**hole" trying to annunciate his name didn't come across clearly at all.  I e-mailed the Broward County Sheriff about it and contacted my phone company.  My phone company wants to charge me with their various "block" services to stop this type of call ... I told them thanks but no thanks, get your act together and stop trying to charge the consumer for this type of **** ... I pay for an unlisted number .... may as well stop paying for it as anyone and their mother can get it anyway ... what am I paying for????????  Just got another call .... Call comes across as PRIVATE 954-332-0136.  I tried calling it back and receive a message it is not in service.  Okay, how does that happen??I don't know anyone in Broward county ... let alone in jail.Going to contact the phone company a***n to make sure I don't get charged for these calls WITH MY ANSWERING MACHNE PICKING UP .... Another frapping call coming in from this number as I'm typing this

I got a call from the so called boyfriend of mine cause he got arrested the night before, i was so ready to give him a piece of my mind after his baby mama called me private.... to tell me he got a kid. What an a**hole!!!!!

Its a call from broward county jail if you accept it you will be charged for it. If you stay on the line without accepting it gives you a chance to block anymore calls. If you go to broward county sheriffs web page you can do an inmate search and try to find out who is calling you, you can also find info for the telephone co. that runs the jail calls and let them know you do or donot want the service to come to your house.

Yep its somebody that called you from jail because my boyfriend called me from that number when he was in the broward county jail.

I got at least 5 calls from this #, two of which i answered and **** up two went to the answering ma****e, the other rang twice and that was it. I was unable to call back.

How do you know it's specifically from the Broward County Jail and not another jail type facility in Broward County, like say, an inmate drug rehabilitation facility perhaps?  I'm asking because I receive the same phone calls too, but don't know anyone in a Ft. Lauderdale jail.
