Scam!!! Want your am ex number

They left a message and said its not a telemarketing call. They said to call back at a 1800#. The number in the back of the card is a 888 #. Scam !!!!!!

it's an AMEX scam. do not give them any info, just report them to donotcall.gov or AMEX.......

SCAM! I hve been recieving multiple calls a day, each time they claim that they are from American Express...I don't have an American Express card. I called the real American Express, and was told that this is a scam. Do not give them any information!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get this call 3-4 times a day!  I called back and got the recording:  Thank you for calling American Express.  I get this same recording on other numbers as well:  one says from Utah, another from Florida, another from California.They don't stop!  I must have received upwards of 110 calls so far.Last choice -- cancel my phone number

On November 20, 2010, a call was made to my cell phone. Person claimed they were from American Express and correctly stated my name. I was shocked. I say nothing. The caller repeatedly said*****o. Finally I herd the female caller saying 'she is not saying nothing'. She ***g up.

This is a SCAM. They are not AMEX but will ask you for your card number and SS#.

i****umed it was amex since my last payment hasn't been sent yet, but it's strange that it's apparently not them.my phone plan doesn't allow me to answer calls anyhow, so i can't do much to find out anything about the caller.

I get 20 calls a day from this #. I never answer #'s I don't know but I'm tired of the calls. I'm sure it's a scam!

Although this comes up as American Express on caller ID - this IS NOT AM EX!!!  I called the official 800 # for American Express because I was tired of these calls.  They referenced their call station #s & this isn't one of them.  The attendant advised me that they are having problems with fraudulent calls.  DO NOT call this # back & DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY personal info!!!!

When I returned this missed call a recording came on stating that this was American Express and then transferred to me to a live attendant whom also claimed they were AE. I asked what the issue was and he asked for my account number. I told him that I have never received a call from 954 area code for AE and was not comfortable giving this to him. He said this is AE and if I was not comfortable with giving it I could either give my social security number or call the 1 800 number on the back of my card. I ***g up and called AE and they looked up this number in the system and told me that they did NOT own that number and it was definitely not AE. My account was up to date and they have no record on my account that anyone from AE attempted to call me.Please beware!

It is American Express.  I called the number back because they called my 13-year-old daughter on her cell phone, and neither of us have an American Express card.

Wanted to know who owns this phone number.
