Oh thanks to all of you that posted information here to warn others! As for the fool that sent in the money .... well you may have a ****** sticker to put on your car (they ruin paint/windows and they fade) but do you really know your contribution went where they said it would go or did you just support a ********* organization?!

They will send you your packet.  When they call, they quickly announce they are a private firm collecting donations for the police department.  What they don't tell you is that most of the money they collect goes to administrative costs (to them).  Most outfits like this only send 25% of the cash to the charity they are calling about.  The charities are not thrilled with this, but go along with it because it is free money to them (they get so****ing and it did not cost them anything at all).BTW, my HR director told me that all government employees in Colorado are required by law to have life insurance.

this company is not a scam as i know because i made a donation and they sebt me a packet and sticker there just trying to do there job.

I have received three calls from this number in the past two days.  The caller ID reads Aspen, CO.  I have not picked up the calls, but there is always a garbled, noisy filled message on the ma****e.  I have no idea what the caller is saying or trying to sell.

No message is left; there's an extended beeping - no other noise on the voicemail. When I call the number back, recorder says the call cannot be made as dialed, to dial the number a***n. There's no way to get through to anyone. The caller id shows "local number" and no name below the number. Many, many calls from this #. Annoying. When I answer, there's no one there.

I just got this call too. The marketers sure are taught to sound like police officers. I am wondering, the above script is the exact one that I was read. The interesting thing is that they told me to make checks out to "Colorado Police Department". How can they be accepting checks made out to the police?

they called twice but using to different numbers 300-2167/2163 are the numbers and it show up on my caller ID as a local caller but nno one says anything all you hear is nosice in the back ground. I wont all teller marketer to stop calling us

I keep getting calls from 970/300-2163. They just called at 8:32am on a Sa****ay! I am on the Do Not Call list. This is crazy!

I have three calls currently on my caller ID for this number and they never leave a message--it seems they only call when I am at work so I have never talked to anyone.  I am also on the no call list and should not be getting these types of calls. If it is from a ligit Non profit the call shouldn't be comming up local call.  Should I report it for a violation of the no call law?

Got a call from this number for the policemans protective****ociation.  They said they would send me a sticker for my car to let officers know that I support them.  Funds where to pay for disabled officers and funerals.  They where going to send a represenitive to our house to collecto the donation and give us our car sticker.   Are these guys ligit?

Male indentified himself as being from the Colorado Child Protection Service.  Was soliciting for money to go towards bullet proof vests for officers.  I am on the Colorado and National No Call list so I should not be receiving telemarketer calls like this.  I told him I wasn't interested in donating and that I do my donations at the local level and never over the phone.  I then ***g up and found all these posts about this number so I'm glad I followed my instincts because it seemed like a scam and he seemed very eager to sign me up for a "bronze level donation" and get me to provide a payment option.

Call came from 970-300-2163 and 'Local Call' on ID.  Our phone should have screened this call out because the caller does not ID themselves. However, did not answer, and they left no message.  Will report them to our phone carrier and to DO NOT CALL LIST.Could be telemarketer..but did not answer.  Telemarketers reading this..this is a warning. We are setting up a SCAM THE SCAMMERS net to trap you.  We are teaming up with Martino's Trouble-S****** and next time you call, you are going to be trapped by the false money trap we set for you!  Go on ! Call!!

These people called wanting me to donate money for vests for police dogs.  They offered to send info but acted as if they wanted their money right away.  I ended the call without giving them money or allowing them to have my address to mail information.  I only talked long enough to find out what they were up to and it sounded like a scam I should report.
