just received a call from this number. it was a collect call from an inmate at some polk county facility and he said he was looking for Amber or Justin.

This number is from someone who is incarcerated.

I woke up this morning and noticed a collect call from this # at 2:17 am. I'm glad my phone was on silent!

This number called our phone and it is saying it is a collect call from a detention center. When you redial the number it is a recording that says "all circuits are busy."

from what i read here, someone incarcerated is at the root of this number. i'm in little rock, arkansas. i hope it isn't a friend. i would hate to think i didn't answer when they needed me. on the other hand, could simply been a wrong number. who knows. oh well.

I have no idea who called from this number.  I have read the comments above and do not know anyone who is incarcerated.  How do I block this number?

v-connect is one of the most expensive way to talk to someone who is incarcerated. i was paying over $2/mintue, and after being bitten for $138 in a very short time, i s****ed looking for cheaper alternatives. i found a website: cheapjailcalls.com, and the cost plummeted to about a nickel/minute. for less than $20/ month, they set you up with a phone number that is local to the facility your person is in, they dial that number, and it rings wherever you are, this eliminates toll collect long distance charges, which can add up very quickly. this is not an ad from that website, i am an actual customer, and i'm letting everyone i know about the alternatives available out there...so check it out.

This number is for the Dept of Corrections in any state, it's just based out of Texas, when you answer the call it gives you the option of accepting it or not, you wont be charged until you press a certain #. You have to set up a pre-paid acct through  www.myvconnect.com first before you can talk to the other party, you just need to know what facility they are at and you put YOUR phone number and add money to that account. Its alot cheaper than them calling you collect, but not much. It tells you who the other party is once you answer.

Called late at night and ***g up on me

recieved a collect call from  972-535-7795 and would like to know who want to talk to me?

Says its a call from Sheridon WY County Jail. I had this call a few weeks ago and thought it was a wrong number from an inmate. Just had it a***n. They never have a name and I have no idea who I could know in jail. Of course I did not accept it and it actually asked for me to dail another number and set up an account to accept the call. Please, I was not born yes****ay but I hope these calls stop

i receive a call from this number today 1/8/11 at 7:10 pm and i cant hear the name of the person who called and some answering ma****e or operator said so****ing about "Child Services" and then said if i was to revise the called i will be charged!..

This is how many jail mates can call thry get you to put money on this account so they can call you. My sister is in jail in Michigan which also has this number. They can keep calling till either you block it or put money into the v-connect account.

Don't know this person, apparently I am not the only victim of these calls. I hope this person is stopped. This is disturbing that prisoners can get a hold of citizens numbers.

Yeah, its a pre paid number most of the prisons are using this new phone company called V-Conect. If you have a love one in prison some where they are the ones who have been calling you from that number. unless you have set up a pre paid account with them you will not be able to speak with them. but you can call the company or the prison and have the calls blocked at no charge to you.

The website i use is www.myvconnect.com it is a prepaid account that I use here in NY not sure if it is nationwide.  Good luck.

This was a collect call to my house. I do NOT know anyone in prison in Texas. How they got my number, I don't know. But I do know, it better not happen EVER a***n, because I will WALK TO DALLAS TX JUST TO KICK THE PERSON WHO TRIED TO CALL COLLECT.

I've missed a few calls from this number myself. Did a reverse phone number look up, it's based from somewhere in Texas. Amanda's post about it being from a Washington State correction facility actually makes sense. I do have a friend who in incarcerated and I'd bet my life it's him calling.
