Wanting personal imformation.
Im recieving the same calls, but I was told it was Capital One Auto. I have a car loan thru them, as well as a credit card thru capital one. They told me that my payment was late, which it wasnt. I paid it online, the payment had already posted thru my bank and I could see it online. I refuse to answer their calls anymore, as this has happened two months in a row now. They continue to call day in and day out. When you call to verify who they actually are, it doesnt say what company they represent, as most companys do when you call. I do believe its a fraud after reading what everyone has said. So dont give them any information!
Just as with Lisa and other folks that reported this number. THESE GUYS ARE PHYSHING FOR YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION. I called my credit card company and they verified they don't have outside companies call on their behalf. These people claim to be Citibank Collections and leave an 800 number to call back (1-800-200-8054). When I call that number, no answer. But when I call back 972-653-1000, I spoke to a woman who claimed to be with Citibank collections, handling accounts for Home Depot, Macys, Shell, etc. First thing she asked for was my account number. I said I had no accounts with any of those stores. The she asked for the phone # they called me at. When I gave them the number, then THEY ASKED FOR MY ACCT SECURITY PASSWORD. When I refused to give the number, and password she said that she didn't know why I was called then. I explained that I investigated them and knew them to be a phishing scheme and she politely said to have a nice day and ***g up. I have been received at least 5 phone calls per day in the past week, even after asking them to remove my number.I called all my credit cards and reported the physhing scam and I C****ED ALL MY ACCOUNT PASSWORDS/CODES to ensure no one gets access to my accounts.I don't know hot to stop them from calling me a***n, but at least I know I'll be ok because I've updated my security on all cards.
I get telemarketing calls all the time - despite putting our number in the "do not call" list as well as asking individual telemarketers *not* to call us a***n. My advice to others in similar situations is to visit this website: http://www.consumer.gov/sentinel/trends.htm. This site has guideline on how to report telemarketing abuse, which is what you should do if you are continually harassed (even if no one leaves a message, this is still harassment.)
Have called 4 times this weekend. The third time they asked for Gloria and I told them she wasn't at this number and please remove me from their calllist. Today, when I answered, I was put on hold and listened to a recording in Spanish for several minutes. When a real person came on line, they a***n asked for Gloria. I told him there was no one here by that name and a***n asked that I be removed from their calling list. His reply: "So, you don't know Gloria?" Not very bright either.
We have been getting this call for months and now I am reporting to the phone company and police department. They say when you call back they have no record of our number or calling but have never clearly told us the company name...
They have called my work for one of my warehouse guys. I ask what it is in regards with, *** she comtinually tells me it's personal. But when he picks up she ****s up. Is it really that personal to say it has to deal with an account or if you are with a bank?? I don't understand why they **** up if it's so important to talk to him?
They called our phone number over 30 times in two weeks --- same scam. When we called to verify, they asked for our password and even gave us the first letter. Which is scary -- Does Citibank even know they have a breach?
This is an obvious phishing scam. They claim to be various companies and ask for account info.
I called the number back and got Janeece- she asked for my account number. I advised that I was called and work and had no message on what the call was concerning. I asked who she was with and she stated she was with Citi cards. I advised I had no accounts and asked that they remove my numbers from the list. She then asked me for all of my store or credit cards and she would verify which one they were calling on. She stated they are with the Mastercard division and can only pull those accounts. She gave 1 800 388 2200. I advised that if I was not removed from their lists, that I would contact our State Attorney General's office.
they say they are citicards but are not. I called citibank, citicards and verified that they have no need to call me. It's a scam. The scary thing is that citibank didn't even bother to ask more questions or say they would investigate it.
The same story happened to me. When I call the number 972-653-1000 they claim to be from Citicards collections. They asked all my personal information, however their values do not match with mine. This is definitely a fraud scheme.
unsolicited calls. ****s up, without leaving a message, when the answering ma****e answers.
CitiBank/CitiCard/CitiGroup****ume that, even if their info is incorrect, some people will pay them just to stop the calls. Contact your State Attorney General and ask for their commercial/business complaints department. Most have on-line forms you can use to file a complaint.
I have received several calls from this number and it happened to me the exact same thing as Lisa.
