Wanted to buy my vehicle off of AutoTrader. Willing to pay my asking price plus $200.00 to take my ad down and consider the vehicle sold. Asked him to Venmo me the $200.00 and I would take it down. He said he would include it in the check he will send me to help pay for the vehicle shipping. Would not Venmo me the money, total scam.

Contacted me through autotrader.com. Tried to convince me to sell him my car and he paid with overnight certified check +$200 extra. It’s a fraud. He used the following email addresses: [email protected] [email protected]

Asked me to email as he doesn’t use the chat feature. I responded. He said that he is very busy but wanted to buy the car anyway. Asked if the car had any major accidents and then asked me for some personal information. Then said he would overnight me a bank check and have someone pick it up later ????. Please

They claimed that they were interested in my car and wanted me to respond outside of the Autotrader application

Just wasted 2 weeks on this pile... same as everyone else. Since my car was financed, I told him to send the check directly to Mercedes Benz Financial. Mercedes told me they never received anything. I did not give him any personal info, Not sure what the scam is here... what's the end game?

Gave me his address as 908 Braden Cv. Jacksonville, AR. After I read these comments I told him my vehicle was already sold.

Asking for communication outside of Autotrader similar to what others have said. wisdomizedy655@ gmail.com was the email given and it immediately set off red flags for me.

Happened to me too. I insisted he send me a copy of his driver's license. Was from Arkansas. Seemed suspicious from day one - and it was through an AutoTrader ad. Email was [email protected].
