I received several rather threatening messages on my cell phone demanding that I call the Treasury Department before I am arrested for back taxes. I am VP of a Credit Union so my credit and finances are in order to keep my job. Third call I did call back and got a woman with a broken English accent who answered the phone in a ****led sentence. When I asked what company this was, she said the US Treasury Department. She asked me for my home phone number and my address. Of course I didn't give it to her. She already had my cell number on caller ID and asked if my last name was "Johnson". I told her no and she said sorry, we have the wrong number and ***g up. Beware folks, and no, don't even bother calling them back. I found this after I made the call.

I received similar message: person identified himself as James Casten or Kasten in what sounded like an English as a second language British accent. He clearly didn't know my name: he said so****ing like you are getting this call because you need to respond to it. (!) He did not mention the IRS, but the Treasury Dept (sounded scarier?).

I got a call from them saying ignoring the request would be violating federal law and advising me to help them help me... crazy made it sound like i was a criminal

The person calling from 978-522-4228 is a SCAM Artist. Beware and be warned. Claimed to be calling on behalf of the IRS trying to collect a debt. We owe nothing, and have paid our taxes every year and on time. A***n this is a SCAM don't give the person any personal information, not your name, social security number, any thing. Don't even return their call, that is probably the best thing. TAX SCAM, TAX SCAM, TAX SCAM.
