They pose as windows tech support THEY ARE NOT!!! Mom fell for it and was going along with it, they had her load up "team Viewer" got into her comp before I knew what was going on. Then tried to get her to western union $250 to them and they would send someone out the next day to fix the comp. Mom was headed to the store to do it. I caught the call, told them they were scammers. they argued that they were legit. Finally they told me if they didnt get the cash, they would crash her computer in 2 hours. Mom was trying to work with them still and they backed out of the 2 hour crash, I got back on and they continued the crash line. I ****ed the Team Viewer session and s****ed closing **** they had open. I came across the encrypt disk dialog. Seems what they were doing was encrypting the disk, that way everything gets locked trashing the disk. No password, no disk, no comp. I am now in the process of backing up the disk while it is still up. Hopefully this will work, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!
