Left a message on voicemail. Said Officer Heather Gray from IRS and for me or my attorney to call her back at this number. I did not call. This is a scam. IRS would first notify you by US mail. As a former US Treasury employee, I know that IRS employees do not have the ***le of "Officer." Do not fall for this or waste your time calling back this number.
Just got a vm from this number...computerized voice stating they were officer so****ing or other from the IRSff with an extremely time sensitive matter. That I need to immediately call back on the hotline number--which just so happens to be this same number. Mmmmmmkay....not calling back, definitely a scam in the making. I've heard of this going around--the IRS would most likely not be using a cell phone, a computerized voice message with an "officer" name attached and would also be contacting you by snail mail. Curious if anyone knows where to report this kind of thing, besides here? =)
Hi...just received a call from this number today--didn't recognize it so I let it go to voicemail. Computerized voice stating they are from the IRS from an Officer so****ing--couldn't make out the name and that this was an extremely time sensitive issue. I am supposed to call the "hotline" which just happens to be the same number that called me. I highly doubt that this is the way the IRS goes about its business and am fairly certain that you normally would receive so****ing via snail mail from the IRS. Seems pretty clear that this is a scam. I'm not calling back and neither should you. Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else gets the same...is there a number to call and report these type of things?
