Leave a CommentI recieved a call today from 1-202 -630-9254. This person was claiming someone had a law suit a***nst me but will not tell me who or from where. He wouldn't even tell me the name of the law firm he worked for. He called serveral times until I told him I would call the police if he didn't stop calling. I know like many of the others that I am innocent of such things, so I am calling this a scam.
He called from 206-316-8320 stating the same thing as the others wrote above. He even called my job number. Same M.O. said I owed 374.00 if I settle out of court and 4600.00 if it has to go to trial.
I received a call yes****ay from a fake DEA agent accusing me of bribing another DEA agent. I told him that was insane and I ***g up. He called back and left a voicemail telling me that "if I don't call him back within 5 minutes, I wouldn't be having a Thanksgiving dinner and would be cold turkey". He called from 213-928-3311, a Los Angeles number. I called him back and reminded him that extortion is illegal, it is a federal crime and that I am saving his voicemail to give to the FBI and the DEA, and then ***g up before he could say anything. The guy talked in a very thick Hispanic accent. I didn't receive any more phone calls from that number, but within a few minutes I received a call from Florida (305-515-6097), and a few minutes later from New Haven, CT (203-201-2000), neither of which I bothered answering. This morning I got a call from Ohio (740-557-3660) - they left a voicemail but didn't say anything on it.
Fake DEA Agents Scamming ColoradansColorado Mug ****s Scammers posing as Drug Enforcement Administration agents have swindled at least one Front Range resident out of $10,000 and nearly did the same to a second Colorado resident, according to the ******e DEA says the scammers are likely from the Dominican Republic. They call victims who have purchased drugs over the Internet and identify themselves as DEA agents. The impersonators tell the victims that buying drugs over the Internet is illegal and that they will face enforcement action unless they pay a fine. In most cases the impersonators tell their victims to pay the fine via a wire transfer. One Colorado resident fell for the scam within the last two weeks, losing $10,000. A second resident was about to wire the money but called the DEA first and did not follow through on the payment.Acting DEA Special Agent in Charge Kevin Merrill told CBS4 this is not the way the DEA conducts investigations. He says if anyone is contacted by these scammers, they should contact the real DEA.To report the extortion scam call (877) 792-2873.http://cbs4denver.com/crime/dea.fake.agents.2.2004388.html
Received a call from this number. Guy said his name was "Officer" John Garcia. My husband also received a call as well as my mother. Was intimidated, felt threatened, life and livelihood was threatened. Was told we had to call him back asap. Told there would be people on our doorstep within three days. The police were called, they came to our home, recorded a call the officer made to this guy, recorded all aspects of the messages that were left, will be turned over to the JD and AG for criminal investigation / prosecution.
I had a call from this # today. The guy said he was officer John Garcia. He threatened me so intensley that I almost went and paid the "fine" which was 2,500 $ !! He was a predator and *********. He told me he was sending 2 DEA agents to arrest me if I didn't go to western union in the next 15 minutes. Even though he terrorized me I knew I was not a criminal. If I had broken the law I wasn't aware of it. I called my local DEA office and told them the whole story, including the truth that I had orderded medication for myself and my pets via online pharmacies. The REAL DEA was very nice and****ured me this was a scam that they were aware of and even has a special task force handling it. They were very kind and gentle with me and told me NO officer of the law would EVER ask for $$$ for any reason!
Exact same scneario for me in May. I once (in 2005) used an online pharm for legal prescription meds through my work insurance. Then the calls s****ed coming. It wasn't until i told them they are lying that my doc (from 5 years ago) never phoned in a "new" prescription as they claimed. I said it would be illegal for me to buy from them without a vaild script. That is when they went ballistic. My wife and family were threatened with physcial violence. I laughed at the guy on the phone and he went nuts. Same DEA stories.Has anyone been subject to any actual consequences from these *******s?thanks
they called me today. said I was in big trouble, but all that could be fixed for $3000 via Western Union. called me back 10 minutes later wanting to know why I didnt have the money yet. told him I couldnt take out $3K on my debit card and needed my check book! By this time I knew it was a scam...they called back a few minutes later very beligerent. THEN I called him and said I was Sgt Stendenko of (Cheech and Chong fame) and he ***g up on me.
Called my cell phone and ***g up when I answered.
I received a phone call from this number also. He tried to say he was a officer with the DEA and told me I had better pay him a fee or i would be arrested. He told me he was going to ruin my life. Be extremely careful!
