Leave a CommentCall received on 9/17/2014, San Francisco, left message for me but used some mispronunciation of my maiden name. Jeff Thomas from Dept. of Legal Affairs (did not say of which, city, state, en***y at all). Strongly advised that I call back regarding a (garbled) action which had been taken in my name. Was polite but there was a element of threat in the suggestion that I had better call or I might find myself in big legal mess. I did not call back - decided to look him up online instead.
Same as everyone below..Jeff Thomas, legal action, ect. I ***g up, he called back asked why I ***g up on him. Told him I would be reporting him. Had these calls before and they stopped, now targeting my daughter!
09/16/14, 4:30 pm pacific time.Oregon. Received call from man with Indian accent stating he was from US Treasury dept. of legal affairs, and have my son call back and ask for "officer Austin Black", who was in charge of the case, and they were "legal issues". I asked him to send me a letter. He said they already sent one and it wasn't accepted (false, no letter).
We just got a call. Called the number back, sounds like a lot of people in a crowded room, set up for fraud. Our child had just gone to the US Embassy in London yes****ay to get emergency help - seems like there is a leak of info from the embassy to the fraud headquarters. Any suggestions as to who to contact to fight this fraud? My taxes ought to go for so****ing useful. Let's nail these guys.
Total Scam. Contacted a client of my and identified himself as with the US Treasury. When I called the number and asked for his ID number, the number he gave was way to short. Got kind of ****y with me so I told him to hop his dot head**** on his camel ride to Alabama and we would talk about it in my office.
We got the same call, for our son who has not lived with us for years. Does anyone know, or have a theory, why people make calls like this?
Some guy with thick accent. Jeff Thomas from legal first or some legal department calling about enforcement issue. If I was too busy to call back my attorney should call back...blah blah. God blessed me and wished me a good day. I didn't call back and after seeing this (thanks everyone) will not call back and will not spend a second worrying.
yea.. same number from this Jeff thomas from dept of legal affairs, believe it's the same guy with accent. he even asked for my spouse's direct phone number. told him lots of scam calls and had ***g up before he finished.
Sean William from "Department of Legal Affairs" about a very important issue. "Take this right and call me back." Thick accent
This same number contacted my grandmother stating the exact same message. I told her not to worry about it because none of it seemed to make any sense.
Same as all the comments here. A man by the name of Jeff Thomas left a message saying he was from Dept of Legal Affairs and that I should take this right and have an attorney call him back to avoid a legal mess. Very thick accent - hard to understand.
Call received from a Jeff Thomas. Claimed to be From the Department of Legal Affairs.
A man named Jeff Thomas called, very heavy accent. Stated he was from Dept of Legal Affairs about an important issue - very scripted, very stumbled s***ch ( like he was trying to read so****ing). Said that i needed to call him back about someone that was filed a***nst me, if I was unable to call back, to have an attorney call them on my behalf to avoid a legal mess.
Oh yah - after I ***g up on him he called me back
Jeff called me with same as below - scam scam
A man called by the name of Jeff Thomas. He stated that he was from the Dept. of Legal Affairs regarding an important issue. He urged us to call him back as this was a verbal obligation. If we were unable to contact them, to have our attorney call them to avoid a legal "mess".
Same deal. "Jeff thomas" called, from some Legal Affairs scam.
Same thing happened to us. And of all days, 9-11. Some people need a life.
Exact same thing happened to me as El Paso, Tx. CRAZY!
Yes some lady called me !
Sounds like the other 202-241- **** scams. Male with accent identified as Sean Williams from U.S. Treasury asking for my daughter. The number showed on caller id but name unknown. Took message to have daughter call back quickly before they s****ed criminal proceedings and ask for Officer Austin Black. I am not passing on the message and believe it is a scam.
