My husband got a call with this number as a return number .Originating number was 209-220-4354. It was an automated recording stating an Officer Jenny Smith from the IRS was trying to contact us with a serious matter. Called the return number back and it was not****igned to any person. Called the originating number and it was a number to get phone numbers removed from a telemarketer's database. Read about an IRS scam. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO. The IRS will mail you any tax information (ie: audits, back tax, ect.) They will give you deadlines to pay by and will have you visit the IRS website or call 800-829-1040 which is the direct number to the IRS.
