I received the same call on Jan 8, 2015 @ 9:40am. I also called the number & the message states it is the IRS & to leave a message. I did not leave a message and this is most definitely a scam.

I called this number out of curiosity with the knowledge that it is a scam. It claims to be the IRS and ask you to leave a message. I did not.

I have been receiving calls from this number for several months and no voicemail left until today. They left the exact message as per James comments here. Had a hard time understanding the message and I thought it was my hearing. I was about to call them back because I did not want to be radar with the IRS . Lucky my wife searched for the source of the call and landed here. Thank you for the warning everyone.

This is an IRS Phishing Scam!

I received the same recorded telemarketer call as James and Randy from 202-241-8578 on January 8, 2015, 10am.

I received a call from 202-241-8578 (January 8, 2015) 8:15AM claiming they were from the Legal affairs office of the Dept of the Treasury , The IRS and had a legal affidavit that there was a fraud attached to my name. They have been trying to get me to call for over months and months. And I should call back at above number ASAP. Indian woman called (as in dot, not feather).

Received a call from 202-241-8578 (January 8, 2015) claiming they were from the Legal affairs office of the Dept of the Treasury , The IRS and had a legal affidavit that there was a fraud attached to my name. They have been trying to get me to call for over a month and this message actually stated they had been. They warned me not to ignore this matter and if I couldn't call have someone do it for me. I couldn't understand the last part of it because she was speaking with an Indian (as in sacred cows).
