I recieved a call from 202-241-8964 and they left me a voice message threateing that they were calling from IRS and would file a lawsuit a***nst me and that I had to call back immediately. And this is probably the third or fourth time they are calling me.

At 11am, rec'd call from "Unknown" stating this is IRS with final notice and a lawsuit will be filed if I didn't call 202-241-8964. At 2:30pm rec'd another call from "Unknown" stating this is IRS with final notice and a lawsuit will be filed if I didn't call. This time, I was instructed to call a different number: 202-241-8348. Bottom line-Do as I do, and don't pick-up any "Unknown" numbers!

It didn't even show a phone number they were calling from - it just went straight to my voicemail which is weird.

Obviously a scam. Caller left message: “Hello we have been trying to reach you. This call is officially a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service is the reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit a***nst you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 202-241-8964. I repeat 202-241-8964. Thank you.”

Rec;d second call stating "This is a final notice. The IRS is filing suit a***nst you. Contact 202-241-8964 for information". On my caller ID it just displays "1". I smell a scam.......

I got the same voice message from this number regarding an impending lawsuit a***nst me. I knew right away there was so****ing fishy. So I called out this number which was mentioned as the callback number in the message. A guy with an Indian accent answered and claimed to be the IRS, and that he is in the business of making money.. I cursed him out and told him that I will be reporting this fraudulent action to the proper authorities. The number is 202-241-8964.

I received the phone call and they left the message, "You received this phone call because IRS is filing a lawsuit a***nst you." And I quickly checked the IRS directory 92 pages in all. None is 202-241-8964. Most of them are begin with 202-317 then other 4 digits. After reading all your comments, I felt relief. Thank you, everyone.

This is the second call I've received from a blocked number telling me that this is a final notice and that the IRS is filing lawsuit a***nst me. I was instructed to call 202-241-8964 for more information.

Rec'd call from 'Out Of Area' yes****ay stating - this is the IRS (Internal Revenue Services) and this is a final notice warning that they are filing a lawsuit a***nst me. Rec'd another call today from 630.303.5313 giving the same message and to return call to 202.241.7044

My parents received a call from that number claiming it was IRS and my parents needed to pay a penalty for unpaid tax. While my parents asked them to send a letter to explain the penalty, they said that my parents need to pay it immediately by phone otherwise they would be arrested.

I got the same phone call regarding a final warning about a lawsuit by the IRS. Sounds like a total scam.

I got a message saying they gonna saying last notice they IRS they said so****ing about law suit. After I read all the comment I know now it's just fraud.

Left a message saying that it is IRS and that this is the last time they are going to inform us about a lawsuit being filed a***nst us and that I have to call 202 241 8964.

got a automatic message saying IRS is filing lawsuit a***nst us and instructed to call back at this number. I knew it's a scam but still called back. The guy had strong indian accent (guess it's called from some call center in india) and the background is made to sound like a noisy call center set up. I told him that I know he's a scam and he calmly replied "no I'm not. I work for IRS. I believe you intentionally avoid tax and will face jail time. " lol

Just got same message. I think the thing to remember is what the last person said. The IRS does not contact you by phone. They use the US Mail. End of story.

I just got the same message on my phone. Their first mistake is, of course, thinking the IRS calls *anyone*. It doesn't. It handles all business through the US Mail. Secondly, they self-identify as "the Internal Revenue Services." The idiots don't even know the federal agency they're trying to masquerade as: it isn't "Services" but "Service." I felt like calling the number they left and using two words that aren't "happy birthday," but I didn't bother. I look for the day when phone services will allow users to block specific numbers.

Yes I was left a message that the irs was filing a lawsuit tomorrow if I didn't pay at least half of what they claimed I owed. $730. I was told that there would be an arrest warrant issued for me tomorrow if I didn't pay that over the phone within 45 minutes. SCAM.
