This person called and left a message on my answering ma****e, spouting off a long "case-file" number, citing a felony case, and threatening lawyer action, they were looking for a person who sounded faintly like someone who had lived at our residence many years before us. I called back, as a nice person and citizen to let the caller know that the person they were looking for did not live at my address, then suddenly they are asking for another member of my household. I became apprehensive at this point because they caller can have caller ID and ask for the name on the ID. I called the number back after discovering that the 202-241- ****x numbers have been a source of scams, I left a message for the caller that I have the number for the DEA extortion department and I would appreciate a call back to verify the name of the business and more on the "case file" information. I have yet to hear from this caller.
