Leave a CommentRecieved call from 202-403-0825. I don't answer numbers that I don't recognize. No msg left - not that important for me to find out who it is then. In reading the other postings, this is from craigslist or the like; applied for jobs. Unfortunately the scammers are also using Monster, CareerBuilder, etc as their avenue for obtaining data (phishing). Some are designing website that look very legit, but be aware! Stop and do your homework before replying. It's unfortunate low-life mentality resort to feeding on people in need. Given the state of our economy, not enough worries in finding a job but the deviants who prey on the struggles to maintain life as we know it.
I was called about a job and interviewed for about 10 min. I was asked only a little about what I sought in the job and given no information as to who the company was ( to hire a security officer ). They focused on continuing my education. I said I am always interested in furthering my training but only if the employer is wanting to pay for it. She got very ***ue at this point.
I found 2 jobs on craigslist, and applied to both. It then said I would be contacted if I was found to be a good candidate for the position. Then I received an email for references, in which at least 1 of the references I provided was contacted by email and had to return it back to them. Also, that I might be contacted by phone if I was. I missed the call but the recording said to hold on the line for a representative for information verification. They never called back, and I tried to call them back a few minutes ago and it was busy. I'm wondering based on most comments here if this is legit. I was contacted by 2 schools already. I just graduated in October last year!
they ***g up on you when you asked for the number?! ***? the phone is still busy. but its like a disconnected sound rather than a busy sound.
they called and asked me information, i told them give your number i will call back he ****ed up on me.
I just recieved a call from that number. A lady told me she was with Employment Select and I had applied for a receptionist/secretary pos***on online. which i did. she told me she had to ask me questions that would take 5 to 45 minutes. I told her I was at work and she said I could call back...when I asked for the number she said "do you have caller ID", I said "Yes", she said "then call that number back" and someone would talk to me. I asked her where the job was and she said it was "local" but the company was confidential. I tried to call back but it was a busy tone. I believe it's from Craigslist.com and it was from one of those applications that asks you to put in the cell number and the cell carrier. Not sure about all of this.
This is a legit service give them the time if you have they are really legit I kept asking if it was real and they kept saying yes and i asked for there business number and her supervisor she obliged. I got a call the next day from the actual place that was hiring. They really do want to place you in a position.
call solitations for education from filling out job applications should be illegal.
I got a call from this number. The lady said that it about interview and it would take about 45 min to more than a hour. She said that if i don't have a time, i should call back.

Got a call from his number on my cell at 9:40 am today - they left no voicemail though. I went to google an typed in the number only to find all your comments. Glad I did not answer.r
its off Career Builder, kinda messed up since they are supposed to be a legit job ***ting company.i applied for a job and thats who called me back. also craigslist is trying to cut down on hacks/spams/dorks/etc by charging employers to pay a fee to post an ad.
I received an automated call from 646-520-0695 and the computer put me on hold for about 9 minutes saying that a customer service representative from Employment Select Verification Department would be with me shortly to verify my information. A female person did pick up the line then, and just verified some generic information like name, address, and ask was I interested in furthering my education. I said yes, and she said someone from a 321 number would call me back in about 10 - 15 minutes. I had applied for a job online, and so I guess this is how they got my phone number. About 20 minutes after I spoke with her I did get a second call from 321-249-1490 and the fellow really tried to press me into giving him information about what kind of degree I wanted to pursue, but I told him I didn't know , and wanted to call him back later. Wondering if this is all an information collection scam or so****ing? It's a shame businesses increase their overhead with third party companies like this.
I got the call this morning from this 202-403-0825 number verifying a job I applied for which was an Medical Receptionist job which I thought was lagit since I am qualified for it. But when I got the email from employmentselect.com I was a little suspecious. I don't know what they are trying to ***n by this but I sure the h*** know I will let them know just how I feel the next time they call me. And I will be **** if I go to school through some company who is scamming like this. They are crashing down the hopes of people who are legitemately looking for jobs. What a shame!!
I got the call this morning from the same number on my cell phone. I had replied to a job offer on Craigslist, and suspect that is how they gathered my number. F'ers!
LOL! I just got an EMAIL from Employment Select 202-403-0825 confirming their conversation with me earlier today. [email protected] ...for what it's worth to anyone. It focused on futhering my education and how they have partnered with several colleges because employers are seeking people with degrees. I have two degrees, and told her in the phone interview that I wasn't really looking to further my education at this time due to finances. She pressed the issue a***n, so I told her, if the employer wishes me to further my education, we can discuss it then. She dropped the inquisition and moved on to other verifications... a***n, I DID NOT VOLUNTEER ANYTHING... just said 'yes' to her questions.
I just got a call from 202-403-0825 and waited. Someone DID come to the phone. She TOO said it would take 45 min to 1 hour... but it only took 5-10 minutes. She claimed she was from Employment Select. All she did was verify information, keeping everything else generic. I didn't volunteer anything. I just said, 'yes'. She wouldn't answer any of my 'general' question, like what part of town is the job I applied for, or what is the industry of the employer. She claimed, she didnt' have that information, but SOMEONE there did. Her job was only to verify information. After reading the other comments, I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'm sure glad I didn't volunteer anything!
I got the call around 9:46am on January 7. Because of the comments I've seen written, I am deciding not to call back.
This call came on my cell phone. I would like ot know: 1) how did they get my number, 2) who are they afiliated with and 3) what is the purpose of the call. When I called the number I received a recording that said: "Hello we screen individuals on behalf of employers worldwide. We are calling you about an application that you completed online. A verification specialist will be with me shortly. I held to speak with someone so that I could ascertain who were these people. No one came to the phone.
